Hi. I'm an IB Diploma holder, and received my Bachelor degree in Science (Biology/Premed) from the CUNY College of Staten Island. I am bilingual in the Spanish language as well and have been tutoring students from elementary school up to college for over 8 years. As a professional tutor, my goal is to make sure that a student learns to study and learn the smart way. To do so take the following steps: Assessing, Reinforcing, and Applying. Since no student is completely unfamiliar to the subject he is struggling with, I go ahead and assess the depth of his knowledge of that subject. From that assessment, I address what needs to be reinforced, sort of like putting pieces of a puzzle together. All this using the already known Visual, Auditory, and Kinesthetic (VAK) learning styles.

I am a recent Ph.D. graduate in Astrophysics from Clemson University, where I also received my Master's in Astrophysics. In 2010, I graduated from The Ohio State University with degrees in Astronomy, Physics, and Russian. I have been tutoring students in math, science, and standardized test subjects for the past five years, and I would love to help you succeed in whatever subject necessary. I am a current undergraduate student at Rutgers University. I'm currently studying Biology and Mathematics. I then became ABA certified and started working as a Behavioral Therapist, working with children with Autism and other developmental disabilities. I have also tutored students at all grade levels.I like to spend time with my husband, 4 rescue cats, and two bunnies. I also create wheel-thrown pottery, play guitar and piano, read, cook, or spend time outside.

I tutor all the humanitarian topics, including the SAT verbal and writing, English, essay composition and editing, world and U.S. history, and the whole spectrum of the REGENTS test.I like to break things down to their fundamentals and learn from the bottom up, so that it's easier to see how all the pieces of a topic fit together. A ten page paper might seem intimidating, until you break it down into a list of bullet points and ideas. Patience is a virtue and I exercise it dutifully. I'm comfortable tutoring all ages; a bit of empathy can span even decades, I believe.In my free time, I love surrounding myself with books and scraps of paper with inky pens, but when I do escape from between the pages I swim and play volleyball. I'm also fluent in Russian.
