I appreciate the opportunity to learn and it is always good to pass on what I have been taught as well. I'm happy to help anyone who wants my help and who genuinely wants to learn a different language.Learning and speaking a different languages opens not just doors of opportunities, but it teaches you about a new culture and a completely different world than the one what we really live in presently. It opens your mind to other possibilities and possibly new explorations and adventures whether it's trying new foods, or taking a trip to a place you wouldn't have previously.

I am a graduate of Canisius College. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with disciplines in Clinical Adolescent Counseling and Child, Family, & Community studies. I've been an ESL tutor for over 5 years, and I have taught both children (ages 3-15) and adults (all age groups) from all over the world. I have successfully taught over 6,000 students and I have obtained my TESOL certification. Outside of my tutoring work, I've enjoyed working with children and have aided in their mental and emotional development as a caregiver for many years. I am an aunt to over 13 nieces and nephews, so I have no trouble with being patient and creating a supportive environment. I'm also very creative and willing to show your child how fun learning can be. I look forward to seeing your child in my classroom!

I graduated Magna cum Laude from the University of Vermont with a bachelor's of Art in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Pharmacology. As an Honors College Scholar, I completed my research with the department of Pharmacology and successfully defended my thesis. Though I always planned to continue my education by attending medical school, this process sparked my love for pharmacology and physiology and gave my studies a clear direction. I am now a medical student at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and I aspire to enter the field of anesthesiology upon graduation.I began tutoring for college science classes after completing just one semester of undergrad. In my 3.5 years tutoring at UVM I helped students succeed in a range of biology and chemistry courses and had such success I was selected to serve as the supplemental instructor for biology.By the time I was an SI, I finally saw the value in learning all the nitty-gritty facts from freshman bio that hardly seem relevant. I also had some great professors that inspired me with their teaching styles which I tried to incorporate myself. At my weekly review sessions, I tried to connect the minutia to current research, Nobel Prize winners, and medical pathologies and treatments so students could see the bigger picture and not get bogged down by the details. Additionally, while serving as the biology SI, I encouraged students to ask questions they didn't feel comfortable asking their professor or questions outside of the class that I may be able to assist with, such as preparing to apply for medical school. As a female, first generation college student, I am passionate about helping underrepresented students achieve their dream of getting into medical school, and scoring well on the MCAT is a big step in that process. I believe I can use my experience to not only highlight the important content for this exam, but help build the skills they need to excel. In my personal life, I love to play softball, snowboard, practice yoga, and spend time with my cat Theo.

I am a current Dietetics student, Dietitian Education Program intern, and 4+1 student pursuing a Master's of Adult Education. So far at Buffalo state, I have become the treasurer of both the Nutrition Club and the Rotaract Club. I also earned an award this Spring for my 300 community service hours. In my early twenties, I started a business painting cars out of the back of my SUV. I feel it is a great outlet to be creative and work independently but I crave the mental stimulation of academia and the social aspect of tutoring. I enjoy watching students grow as they become more confident in their knowledge through the implementation of good habits. Sometimes all we really need is an outside perspective to show us the best way to do something or to inspire us to push harder. I aim to be that person. In my spare time, I can be found researching the latest nutrition information, exploring my city and nature, or enjoying macro photography (usually of delicious homemade dishes).

Business Tutor • +25 Subjects
I recently graduated from the University at Buffalo with a BS in Business Administration. My junior and senior year of college I worked as a tutor and primarily taught college level macroeconomics, microeconomics and statistics. I have worked with over 40 students and have learned that each student needs to work at their own pace and take a different approach to our sessions. I incorporate study skills and test taking stechniques into y tutoring sessions because it is important that students can use these skills in other subjects as well. I know that I have done my job when a student calls me at the end of semester excited to tell me how well their final exam went. If you or your child needs help with economics, math or general study skills to keep the material fresh this summer I would be glad to work with you.
