I am an SDSU alumna and I am passionate about learning and teaching languages. I am a Native Spanish speaker and I am fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese. I have acquired my language skills by living, studying, and working in South America, China, and the U.S.I lived in China for a year and a half and I taught English and Spanish in a kindergarten class, a middle school, and privately. Now that I am back in the U.S, I have had the opportunity to continue to teach Spanish as well as Mandarin.I have over three years of tutoring experience (Kindergarten, Middle School, High School and adults). I am very patient and can easily adapt my teaching methods to provide my students with a fun and friendly atmosphere to meet their specific goals.

After graduating from UC San Diego with a Bachelor's Degree in Literature/Writing I spent two years as a Peace Corps volunteer teaching English in Ukraine. In addition to teaching fourth through eleventh graders in the classroom, I worked with motivated students individually to prepare them for academic competitions and qualifying tests for study abroad programs. I also led English clubs in the city library where I helped university students and adults improve their conversational skills and their knowledge of the English speaking world. I am a graduate student at San Diego State University working towards my MS in Bioinformatics. I completed pharmacy school and became a pharmacist in 2010. It's therefore always important to have a solid grasp of the basics - to understand the previous steps - before learning each new topic. My approach to tutoring thus focuses less on memorizing formulas and more on understanding why these work and how you can arrive at them yourself.I have always enjoyed being able to help other people and my somewhat unique outlook on mathematics, coupled with my experienced mathematics background, have enabled me to assist many different people in the past. I served as an instructor at a Judo dojo that I grew up in beginning when I was 14, working with elementary school children.
