Hi there, I'm Kaitlin! I recently graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor's of Science in Human Physiology and a minor in Spanish. I am taking a break in my schooling to save money for graduate school and decide what I want my career to be. Currently I am toying with the idea of going back to school and getting a Master's in Human Physiology and then going on to get my PhD and then become a professor at a University, OR working in the medical field for a while and then applying for Physician Assistant school. Whatever path I take, you can bet that it will involve more school and more science!I decided to apply to become a tutor because I really do love education. I know that having a warm, compassionate person to help you with difficult subjects can make or break your grade and your school experience. As a tutor, it is my goal to help make your problem subjects a little less daunting and help you succeed. I recently finished my master's degree in physics at San Jose State University, where I focused on general relativity and quantum mechanics. During my studies, I conducted extensive research projects, including my MS thesis on Geodesics in Black Hole Spacetimes. This background has given me a solid understanding of math and physics, enabling me to explain complex concepts effectively to students. I have three years of experience tutoring at both San Jose City College and San Jose State University, where I have helped college students with math and physics, helping them with their homework assignments and offer explanations for challenging concepts in various subjects, including algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, and calculus, as well as general physics topics like mechanics, electromagnetism, waves, and light. Although I cover a wide range of subjects, I am particularly passionate about teaching general physics topics like classical mechanics and electromagnetism, as well as math topics such as algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. I find great joy in assisting others with their learning journey and witnessing their progress as they grasp new concepts. As a tutor, I strive to create a welcoming and supportive environment that facilitates learning. I am currently a senior at Oregon State University majoring in mathematics and statistics. Math has always been interesting to me, and I naturally like to work through math problems with people of all ages.I have loved tutoring others throughout my life and specialize in making difficult concepts easy to understand. I am an experienced Mechanical Engineer currently trying to make my way into the product design arena. I recently moved to Oregon from Michigan in pursuit of this goal! I have always loved and had a skill for math and physics. This was only strengthened through two degrees in engineering.Although my formal tutoring didn't start until college, in high school I did some volunteer tutoring and was often helping my friends with their physics and calculus homework. When I did tutor, I tutored mainly in all levels of math.

I am a recent graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder. I received my Bachelor of Science in Chemical and Biological Engineering with a minor in French. During my time at CU, I studied abroad in Paris, as well as being a Teaching Assistant for Chemistry, Biology, and Fluid Mechanics for engineers and often helped my peers with homework. During the summer and fall I teach percussion for a local high school marching band. While I tutor a variety of math and science topics, my favorite subjects are chemistry and physics, as I love exploring the ways in which the world works. Education is of the highest importance to me, and I wish to share this passion with my students. In my spare time, I like to read suspense novels, play a variety of string instruments, and play Legend of Zelda.

I have been a Nurse for 33 years, and it has always been my nature to care for and help others. Therefore, I very much subscribe to Mr. Roger's statement, "to look for the helper people" when you are anxious or in need.I took the long route in my nursing career because I am a single parent of two boys, well, men now. I started my nursing career as an LPN for 14 years while working on my Associate's Degree in Nursing. I then finished my Bachelor's Degree and my Master's Degree in Nursing Education in 2020. I have developed organizational and study skills over many years as a student. I am a Nursing Lab Professor known for my creativity and out-of-the-box thinking. I currently teach first-semester nursing students Health Promotion and Assessment Lab and Pharmacology Lab.I have always been drawn to vulnerable populations, and before becoming an instructor, I worked for 17 years as an Adult Medical/Surgical Hematology/Oncology Bone Marrow Transplant Nurse.I look forward to meeting and working with you!Brenda

After obtaining my bachelors and masters, I have had a chance to work from the ground up in IT with start ups, mid sized companies, and some of the largest in the world. It has become a passion of mine to use the wide breadth of knowledge I have throughout IT to help others be successful in their own careers. I enjoy guiding others to answers and helping them understand concepts/topics.

I strongly believe that every human being possesses creative potential, it only takes passion and practice to bring it out. Art is not something reserved for the elite few, but a communication tool that anyone can use to express their ideas, emotions, and lived experiences. My hope is that through teaching I can help students build confidence in their own work, develop a drive to improve, and to achieve their artistic goals in school and in life.I graduated from Portland State University in 2018 and currently work as a freelance Graphic Artist and Web Designer. I have extensive experience with printed media, branding, marketing, event design, and user experience design, but my personal artistic practice is much more broad. I love experimenting with different mediums and materials, including paper collage, sculpture, photography, music, and interactive digital media/game design.
