At Cal Poly Pomona, I was a member of Tau Beta Pi, an honors student engineering society, elected because of my academic performance. I have also taught electronics to non-science majors while I was at UC Santa Barbara.I find out about the student I am tutoring and the subject matter. I believe in meeting the student at his or her level of understanding and proceed to help in the explanation of physical concepts and use practical examples. I often teach the student how to decode and understand word problems in math and physics and convert them into the simplest equations. My first class in Algebra in high school was a challenging course for me, and I remember needing to meet with the teacher before class to help me learn the concepts in order to keep up with the rest of the class.

I have tutored in Pre-Algebra before and worked as a teen camp counselor for UCLA. I have a passion for learning and really enjoy helping other people learn as well. I then passed on those skills and that passion when I began teaching at Landmark School in Massachusetts. At Landmark, a school for students with language-based learning differences, I especially sought to strengthen students' reading and writing skills. I’m currently a rising senior and Presidential Merit Scholar at the University of Southern California. I’m studying biomedical engineering and planning on combining my interests in technology and medicine in my aspirations of becoming a physician.Nonetheless, education and mentorship is a huge part of my life. Throughout my entire college career, I’ve been teaching grades ranging from 3rd grade to high school about subjects ranging from life sciences, physics, and engineering concepts. I’ve also gone through my fair share of standardized testing ranging from the PSAT to the MCAT and really believe I’ve come to learn the tips and tricks you need to succeed on such tests. As a result, I have informally helped a lot of my younger peers through their academic and mental preparation for these exams.
