I love studying Mandarin Chinese and I helping students on their learning journey! After I graduated from high school, my love for learning languages took me to join the Army and study at the Defense Language Institute, where I fell in love with learning Mandarin Chinese. Over the last 15 years, I have graduated with a degree in Chinese from Georgetown University, studied abroad at the International Chinese Language Program in Taipei twice, and lived in Taipei for two years. I also spent five years as a Chinese language teacher at a private high school in Texas where I taught Mandarin 1 through AP Mandarin (using both simplified and traditional characters), and took students on summer tours of Mainland China. Many of my students began studying Chinese for the first time in my classes, and have since gone on to study Chinese at universities like UCLA, UT Austin, and Georgetown. Over my years studying and teaching Chinese I have learned a variety of different teaching techniques that I am able to adjust and customize for each learner's individual needs. Learning languages is a long process, and I love to help students find the aspects of Chinese language and culture that excite their imagination and love of learning.I also love to teach English literature and writing! My second major at Georgetown University was in English, I spent several years as a high school English teacher, I have a master's degree in secondary education from Southern Methodist University, and I am certified in Texas to teach English Language Arts for grades 8-12. As a tutor, I have frequently worked with students on essay writing skills, grammar, and literary analysis. Each student's needs are unique, and I tailor my English tutoring sessions to the needs of each individual learner. The skills students learn studying English will help them throughout their academic career and beyond, and my goal is to make the topics we discuss relevant, memorable, and easy to apply to their current learning.

I love math, but I chose a career path that does not require much beyond arithmetic and science-related math. Tutoring keeps math in my life, which is awesome! I also love tutoring because I love to teach. The best part about teaching (besides using math) is the relationships with my students. I have consistently built great relationships with my students to the point where my students and I not only have a special understanding of each other's capabilities and learning/teaching strategies, but also have a lot of fun together.

The passion for teaching and educating, helping new generation to set up their future goal was always a cherished dream for me. When I started my research career as molecular biologist, hours of hours while spending my time in research laboratory to analyze a tiny molecule and their activity to change completely the effect of a huge molecule, gave me enormous joy of knowing the hidden mystery of human life and the environment. I realized, if spending little time on research can give me this huge accomplishment, then being a teacher when I shall be sharing my experience, story to my students and co-relate their university curriculum with my research experience and my way of teaching, how deeply they will be able to clarify their fundamental basis to establish a strong and deep knowledge in their mind and thus help them to set their future career path. As a teacher, I believe that my main duty will be to provide knowledgeable examples directly related to the teaching topic , how strongly help them to understand and clarify their mind while taking their examination than rather just remembering word by word and write.I believe, as a teacher I always focused myself on helping students to retain their complete interest on the concerned teaching topics. In my past teaching experience I have seen that when a good teaching helps students to keep their interest on topics, they were more interested to research on different references on a particular topic and thus that helped them to score good in examination.This not only helped my students but also I feel benefited me teaching them as well. It helped me to revise my own subjects as well as focusing my goal to start my PhD education again. I worked as teaching and research assistant in past and from my experience I understood that if a teacher does have both teaching and research experiences, are the better teacher to take care of his/her students understanding on different teaching topics. Thus I believe, I might be a good fit for being a teacher and that is also I considered my future goal to be a professor.
