I have always loved chemistry. I have had the great fortune to have had teachers in high school and professors in college who made the subject enlightening and enjoyable.My experiences with those teachers led me to want to become a teacher myself. I graduated at the top of my class from Carthage College with aBachelors of Science in Chemistry, and went on to procure a Masters in Teaching from the University of Louisville.I taught chemistry full time at Oldham High School outside of Louisville Kentucky, and thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it.I am really looking forward to the opportunity of one on one tutoring and helping students understand that chemistry is something to be enjoyed, not to be feared.

I am a student at Northeastern University School of Law with a focus in Global Public Health. I did my undergraduate work at Berry College, in Rome Georgia. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology focusing on Gender Studies. When I am not in school, I am tutoring! I started tutoring when I was 15, working with two elementary school kids; in kindergarten and 4th grade. After two years there I worked at a local college's tutoring center. There I worked with sophomores on whatever trouble spots they were having in their classes. After college I was hired as live-in tutor for a homeschooling family with two high school age children. This was an incredible position. I worked with them on Literature, Algebra, Biology, Chemistry, History and Geography - you name it, I did it. In my tutoring I prefer to focus on the student's strengths and build recognition that everyone has the tools they need to succeed in every area.

I currently have my M.S in Environmental Engineering and B.S in Environmental Science with plans to start medical school in the summer of 2021 in New York! Now, I am a Doctor of Medicine candidate at Harvard Medical School, and I tutor 1st year medical students in Anatomy. I also write the clinical curriculum and teach for the Harvard Health Professions Recruitment and Enrichment Program (HMS HPREP), which teaches the science of the human body to high school children who are interested in pursuing careers in medicine. I think my greatest tutoring quality is that I always meet a student where he or she is and I do not go into a tutoring session with any preconceived notions about a current level of understanding. I am there to figure out where the difficulty in learning stems from and to find creative ways to help the student learn to problem solve in the context of his or her specific subject so that he or she may bridge that gap for themselves in the future.
