I graduated from Cornell University with a degree in Environmental Science and Economics. I tutored throughout college, providing assistance to students on anything from essay-writing to understanding sustainability initiatives such as composting and energy conservation. I was lucky enough to have encountered incredible teachers throughout my education, and intend to provide the same care and attention to each of my students. I am passionate and creative, and will work hard to find out how each student learns and how to best help each student understand the material they are having trouble with. In college, I was an Opportunity Program tutor for a high school student preparing for the AP Chemistry Exam. Regarding college students, I served as a note taker for the General Biology course, a tutor for the Cell Biology course, and a tutor for a Biochemistry course for graduate students. After college, I attended the University of Pittsburgh for graduate school and earned my PhD in Cellular and Molecular Pathology. During graduate school I was a mentor for a junior high school student in a summer program and helped her design and execute a research project examining a genetic knockout mouse model. I also served as a teaching assistant for first year graduate students in a Biomedical Sciences Intro course and first year medical students in a Histology course. Currently, I am a postdoctoral research fellow at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School where I am continuing to perform biomedical research. When I am not in the lab, you can find me exploring historical sites and hiking outdoors.

I love teaching and getting to know my students! My goal in every course I teach is to make the complicated simple and easy to understand. I have taught a variety of subjects and age groups. I currently teach psychology and statistics at Glendale Community College and plan to teach other courses there in the future. I am very excited on the first day of every semester to meet my new students! It is my goal to make all the material relevant and interesting. I want my students to be as excited as me to learn each and every class. While I currently teach college students professionally, I still really enjoy tutoring younger students. I have worked with students from kindergarten all the way to 12th grade, teaching math, computers, English, and Spanish. I am an educator at heart and a scientist by discipline. I caught the teaching bug as an Undergraduate student working as a Teacher's Assistant. The IMPACT program gave me my first opportunity to work with young students, and I loved it. I was honored by the program as an Awesome Science Mentor, leading chemistry, geography, and geology lab activities. After I received my degree I worked as an Intern at a learning center. I worked as a counselor and workshop leader for 5th-12th graders. I continued my work there as the first Sustainable Agriculture Intern for the facility, building the infrastructure for future interns. Working as an educator is something I am passionate about. Making education fun is how I am working to make the future a brighter place.
