I am a senior at New York University studying Finance, Statistics, and Computer Science. I have been tutoring for almost five years at the high school and test prep level and I love the mentoring experience! Immediately following undergraduate school, I earned my Master of Science degree in Economics at Lehigh University. I currently work for a large, international home furnishing company, as an Operations Specialist in the Distribution Services Department. In addition to typical school subjects, I am also proficient in Microsoft Office programs.Being a student from elementary school through graduate school, I have grown to love learning. In high school, I was a straight A student and completed all AP classes in my senior year. Similarly, while in college, I always made honor roll. I've been extremely blessed with a mind and attitude that welcome challenging problems. I realize not ever student loves to learn, and not every student can understand certain subjects without a little additional help. For me, tutoring is a way to encourage students that their toughest subject is indeed conquerable. I try to make any subject relevant to the student, which ideally makes any subject more appealing and memorable.

I graduated from Georgia Tech in May 2015 with a B.S. in Global Economics and Modern Languages. Throughout my four years in university, I worked as a nanny for a family in Atlanta with 3 children, aged 3 through 12, and tutored them and assisted with homework. I also volunteered at an after school program for underprivileged kids called Atlanta Union Mission where I worked with small groups of elementary, middle, and high school students on homework assignments.After I graduated from Georgia Tech in May, I moved to Munich and worked as an au pair for five months. I used this opportunity to travel around Europe and learn German. Although I studied Spanish throughout high school and college and am fluent in the language, I love learning about new cultures and languages and am excited to continue to grow in my linguistic abilities.I think that a good teacher can make all of the difference in a student's life. As a child, I believed that I was bad at math and did not see the value in learning it. However, I had a math teacher in sixth grade who pushed and encouraged me and made me love it. I then went on to take advanced math classes throughout middle and high school and then attend a technical university with a heavy math emphasis. I believe that many students are disinterested in academics because they feel discouraged, and I hope to turn this around in the same way that my sixth grade math teacher did for me through persistence and positive reinforcement.

I graduated from Colorado College (top 25 LAC) in May of 2020 with a degree in Political Economy and a minor in Math, after attending on a full scholarship. I will be starting an MS in Data Science at Georgetown in the Fall. I've recently served as a high school fellowship coordinator on major political campaigns and before that served as a volunteer coordinator. I am very passionate about teaching math as it is something I struggled with before achieving a high level of mastery. But I am also quite capable at instructing in English, Government, Economics, and general writing. I would say I am the type of tutor who works through challenges with students instead of for them.

I enjoy helping my students learn because I love seeing their sense of accomplishment when they realize they can understand a topic they once thought to be incomprehensible. I volunteered to tutor students for the ACT while I was in high school.I went to high school at Simley and now I am a Sophomore at the University of St. Thomas. I am working towards a degree in Actuarial Science with a Mathematics minor.I tutor many subjects including ACT and many levels of Math. My favorite would probably be ACT because it is a stressful test for many people and I enjoy being able to relieve a little of that stress. As a tutor I am fairly laid back and I try to help my students work their way to the correct answer. I do it this way because guiding them through their thought process instead of my own will allow them to replicate their success outside of our sessions.My interests outside of academia consist mainly of sports and volunteering.

I am a second year student majoring in Business Administration and Mastering in Finance. I have always been an excellent academic performer as evidenced by my 3.93 GPA. Throughout the years I have tutored classmates and siblings and last semester I got the opportunity to become the Teacher Assistant of Financial Accounting and Economic Analysis of Capital Investments. As a TA, I tutored students on cash flow statements, financial statements, journal entries, annuities, bonds, mortgages, and more. I explained to students where numbers were coming from and helped them logically understand accounting concepts. I am continuing as a TA and also continue tutoring classmates and siblings in Math, Business, Finance, Accounting and Economics. In my spare time I enjoy watching movies and playing baseball.
