I love teaching. My mother and father were both public school teachers. Two of both of my Mom's and Dad's sisters were as well. My maternal grandfather was a school principal. This is where he met my grandmother, who taught at a nearby school. I have practiced law, I have done phone sales and collections. But, when all was said and done, I always returned to the one thing that I love. I would love to share something new with you, even if that is only to help you think about things in a new way.

I am an undergrad at the University of Chicago, having graduated high school at Jesuit Dallas. I am currently pursuing a major in Computer Science and a minor in Math. I am interested in teaching as a possible profession, so I am planning to attend graduate school in a few years and planning to get a TA job in upcoming quarters. I tutor Computer Science, Math, and Physics, for Middle and High School students, and maybe college students in intro classes. I am most passionate about teaching programming because I find it to be a very useful and engaging skill; a lot of my friends at UChicago come to me when they have trouble working with Python or R, so I also have the most teaching experience with this field as well.I believe everyone learns differently, and I aim to be flexible to meet the different learning styles of my students. My general approach, however, emphasizes discovery and the learning process, rather than the rote memorization of rules and facts (this is why I prefer teaching Math, Computer Science, and Physics instead of fact-based domains like History and Chemistry).In my free time, I learn more about programming, which I apply in the context of programming competitions and game design. I also love playing board games with friends and family.

Hello everyone! I am a teacher with over ten years teaching experience, teaching Social Studies in public and private international schools around the world. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise and Sport Sciences with minors in Secondary Education and Spanish from Texas Tech University where I competed as a cross-country and track athlete on a full athletic scholarship. I went into secondary education upon graduation and my current focuses are (AP/IB) Psychology, History, World Geography, Spanish and English for Spanish Speakers.I am bilingual in English and Spanish and have taught students from all over the world from Central American immigrants to advanced level Psychology students in Africa.I am a strong advocate for students taking classes in the Social Sciences because the knowledge learned in those classes are skills that can be transferred to the real world. Right now, we are in a time where being able to decipher and critically analyze our news sources and our world is at all time high. As educators, we need to make sure our younger generation is properly equipped with the tools to handle the influx of information presented to them.I am passionate about teaching Psychology/Mental Health. It is a vital class for young learners to experience and one in which will become ever more prominent in the coming years. Mental health is being discussed now more than ever and our young people need to have a better understanding of themselves and the world around them regarding human behavior.Teaching a variety of classes and being able to travel the world has taught me how to be a very integrated, patient and diverse teacher.

Hi, I'm Adam. I'm 29 years old, and have recently moved back to the US from several years of living in Australia. I've had lots of experience doing many things over the years. I've always had a passion for digging into different skills and learning whatever I can get my hands on. My last outdoor youth guiding position focused on middle school to high school aged expeditions, team building, rappel/abseil guiding, and overnight survival skills expeditions.I have a long background in emergency and wilderness medicine, and pursuing emergency services and search and rescue focuses is my main goal. Hiking, bushwhacking, swimming, surfing, climbing, SCUBA diving, wakeboarding, snow skiing, rappelling, ropes courses, cliff jumping, and the list goes on. If it involves being outside and something extreme, challenges me, and gets my heart rate going, I'm there.I have also been around martial arts for most of my life. I have a first degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and a year or so of practice in Krav Maga regarding self defense & urban combatives. I started practicing Muay Thai ago it a year ago, have had one amateur fight, and am currently practicing Muay Thai and jiu jitsu.I have a long standing background in sports shooting and self defense tactics with firearms. I worked in private law enforcement for over a year, and have given private lessons to family and friends in self defense & basic firearms safety training.My longest and most persistent passion has a always been music. I began playing drums at the age of 9, and have been playing ever since. I took music lessons from then on throughout high school. During my years at school I captained my 5A high school drum line, played with strings and full wind orchestras, percussion ensembles, musicals, and solo performances at the Texas state level. Beyond that, I continued to play and teach myself, write and play live performances with various musicians, and have since been in a band for a few years with heavy doses of large live performances, studio recording time, and several tracks on Spotify.As you can see, I've gotten my hands on quite a few things over the years. I went on to complete my undergraduate degree at Prairie View A&M University where I majored in Biology and minored in Chemistry. I received my master's degree in Biomedical Sciences from UNT Health Science Center at Fort Worth.I've been teaching biology and biological related classes since 2013 both on the high school and the collegiate level. My favorite subject to teach is biology because it's so fascinated and there's so many different ways to learn the information. My teaching philosophy has always been to meet the students where they are. We all come from different backgrounds and have various struggles, but nothing should impede our ability to learn.When I'm not teaching I have a bakery business, so I'm baking yummy treats. That includes anything from cheesecakes and cinnamon rolls to birthday cakes. I also enjoy spending quality time with my family and sleeping whenever my two young children allow it.

I earned a Master's Degree in Mathematics from the University of Houston, as well as a Bachelor's Degree from Morgan State University, located in Baltimore Maryland. I majored in Math because, after trying out a few other majors, I realized it was the one subject that came easiest to me, and actually found fun. Even as a kid, I've always enjoyed solving puzzles and games. So, learning math was a way to apply my problem-solving talent and my love of logic.I'd say, I first realized I also had a passion for TEACHING math during my experience as a graduate teaching assistant. Thus, after finishing college, I'd often teach math as an adjunct professor. Eventually, I decided to go all in, and I taught math at a high school in Washington D.C. for a couple of years. I followed that up by teaching at a community college in the D.C. area for over a year.After that, I moved from D.C. to the Dallas Fort-Worth area (where I still reside), and took a short break from teaching.But the teaching bug wouldn't go away. So, in 2010, I returned to the academic world, and I obtained a full-time Math Instructor position at Tarrant County College here in DFW, and worked there for 10 years, where I grew both personally and professionally.One of my strengths is my communication skills, and over the years I worked hard to hone many of my explanations, to make them as clear and concise as I think I can.Some of the compliments that I've received from students I taught and tutored is that I'm patient, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic.
