Very patient when I tutor as I enjoy tutoring and find my joy when someone says "I got it".People always complain about Math because schools don't teach them how to connect it and apply it to their real life situations. There is so much fun and beauty behind Math only when it's taught in a right way!Recently, I achieved a new record for Math tutors at Santa Monica college by tutoring 1031 students within a year.

I graduated from Skidmore College in 2012 with a Bachelor's degree in History/Theater and a minor in Creative Writing. Growing up in Westchester County, New York I began tutoring elementary and middle school students at my local JCC in a multitude of subjects. Starting my junior year of college, I worked in the History Department as tutor, with a strong emphasis on helping students in American and European History. I am most passionate about tutoring students in History and English, including AP courses. I feel that I bring a creative and unique approach to my tutoring, and I actively work to help my students find a personal connection to a subject or topic they have previously struggled with. Every student has the capacity for improvement. In my spare time I like to read, write, watch movies, hike and play tennis.

I am a mechanical engineer with a masters degree. I enjoy teaching students of all levels. My approach towards teaching is to assist the students when they need help but let them make the mistake first so they can learn where they went wrong. I have traveled all around the world and feel my vast experience makes me a more relatable tutor. I also enjoy robotics which is a great way to combine math, engineering and science into an interesting yet rewarding subject.

I am a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles. I received my Bachelor of Arts in International Development Studies with a focus on the Middle East and North Africa. I also completed a minor in Public Health during my undergraduate career. Upon my graduation from UCLA in June 2013, I received both Latin Honors (cum laude) and a nomination to the Phi Beta Kappa (P.B.K.) National Society. I have recently been accepted to medical school and plan to attend in August 2014. I have experience teaching in middle school and high school settings abroad in both the Philippines and Honduras. This includes imbedding real-world applications into every lesson to inspire students and spark their latent curiosity. I have routinely made the Dean's list and my GPA is currently 3.7. I'm currently completing my last course as a long-distance independent study. I also scored a 2040 on my SAT's.Last year, I worked as a tutor in a classroom of high-school students at West Philadelphia. The focus of our sessions was on creating dramatic monologues to be performed at an Arts Festival.I have also worked as a teacher's assistant at Northern Virginia Community College. In this capacity, I worked with 25 students of disparate ages and backgrounds including a number of students for whom English was a second language. I worked with students both in small groups and in a one-on-one capacity to improve their writing and critical reading.
