As a driven undergraduate student with an array of experience within the fields of mathematics, statistics and english composition, I aim to provide my services to motivated students to help them realize their true academic potential. In addition, I hope to learn from my students as I pursue a career in education.

I am a undergrad student at Rutgers University - New Brunswick, working to receive my Bachelor of Science in Cell Biology & Neuroscience. I have been tutoring for 3 years now in subjects such as math, english, and reading with a focus on phonics. I have taught a diverse group of children ages 4-14 from all backgrounds and with varying learning abilities. I am a strong believer that every child has the ability to excel in school when they are given the resources and attention that they need. I try and create an environment where the student feels heard and respected while also having fun learning.

I graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor's in Political Science. I have knowledge in a wide array of topics. I am extremely patient and love to build other people's understanding and knowledge of what they previously had difficulty grasping. I am a graduate of Rutgers University--New Brunswick, with a double major in Comparative Literature and Women's & Gender Studies. I am a first year at Rutgers University, studying in a 6 year PharmD program. I always found the best way to learn is through teaching others, so I frequently helped my peers in high school. Personally, I love exploring my love for chemistry and mathematics with others.On the side, I like competing in chess, collecting coins, and alliteration.

My name is Matt. I'm a graduate of a top liberal arts school with a degree in Chemistry and a minor in English Lit. I'm now a full-time tutor here at Varsity Tutors. I typically work with high-school students, but I also work with college students as well as younger students.I share with students the ways I learned the things they are learning now, and I like to focus on understanding the underlying concepts. I want students to be able to think their way through the material, and I do that by framing it in a way that makes sense to them. Everything from writing and English lit to Chemistry and Math has a certain logic and sense to it, so I find that if I can show that logic or sense to the student, he or she can grasp the material much better.My profile picture was taken at a lab job at UC-San Diego I had after graduating three years ago, but I found that as much as I enjoyed the coursework, working in a Chemistry lab wasn't for me. To date, my clients have secured admissions from top institutions such as Harvard, University of Toronto, and LSE. I believe in working with my client to bring out the best in them; most of us know what we want our college application essay to say but have a difficult time articulating our story. My life revolves around excitement and a lack of complacency. I always want to be somewhere or do something that I have not yet achieved. I believe it is this drive that allows me to pursue my passions, both academically and socially, and to be successful in both. I find that my greatest happiness comes in the form of little victories such as a good grade on an exam, or making a friend laugh! Its because of this that I really slow down and try to appreciate every passing moment because I believe every moment has the potential to be life changing.

I would like to cultivate learning by promoting essential habits and creating a positive learning environment. I believe that learning should be tailored to each student based on their respective skills and attributes. I incorporate different teaching styles to reinforce ideas, and am very patient and understanding.
