I have a BS in Physics with my specialty being astrophysics. I plan on returning to graduate school and making my life long career the study of physics and the universe around us. I have a passion for helping others understand the world around us, whether that is helping someone to understand a concept or working myself to understand new concepts. I have tutored many high school students while I myself was in high school. I have come to realize that often struggles in a particular subject are not the student, but a lack of concept building blocks. Many times students are taught to memorize facts and methods, and when posed with new questions they don't have the tools to actually apply them. Supplying them with the fundamentals and first principles allows them to build upward in their skills and actually learn the concepts behind what they are working one. I found in high school that so many do not learn the basics and it tints how they learn more advanced subject matter.

I love teaching kids of all ages, but am especially passionate about fostering a love of literature in students grades 6-8!

I am a senior at the University of Oklahoma currently applying to medical school for entrance into the fall class of 2017! Because I am only four classes away from earning my Bachelor's of Science in Biology at OU, I will only be taking two classes this fall, and finishing up with two classes in the spring. This gives me a lot of extra time time to tutor in academic areas that I enjoy! I also have extensive childcare experience and love tutoring elementary age students, as well.

I have been involved in peer tutoring all throughout high school and am currently also a tutor with the West Philadelphia Tutoring Project. I have found that tutoring is such a fulfilling way to help others succeed while learning new information myself. It also allows me to build new and lasting relationships with those I work with, which is something I have come to value.Outside of school/work, I enjoy dancing, reading, listening to music, and hanging out with friends.

My name is Julia and I graduated from Pepperdine University this past spring and am looking to teach and tutor children. I believe the desire to learn is innate in all children and must be fostered at an individual level in a way that can't happen in adult classrooms. I hope to help students see learning as a 'get to' and not a 'have to.' I have experience with children from birth to 18 years, with a variety of backgrounds and abilities. I integrate socio-emotional learning into all subjects in order to teach the heart, soul and mind of a child.

I am a senior at the University of Oklahoma. My major is Public Relations with a minor in Constitutional Studies. I plan on attending OU law school next fall. I love reading, writing, dancing, CrossFit and running.During my undergraduate career, I interned in news/media. My adventures took me to Washington, D.C. where I participated in the Institute on Political Journalism in the summer of 2014. I also interned for Deseret News National Edition in the spring of 2015. During my time there I worked as a full time reporter and enjoyed long hikes in the mountains of Utah.I married my wonderful husband Timothy in May of 2014. He is also a student at OU where he is studying Engineering Physics.
