I am a graduate of Kean University of New Jersey. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and a Minor degree in Piano Performance. I am currently enrolled in my last semester of my second BA in Piano Performance as well. I am a member of the National Spanish Honors Society. I lived in Uruguay for a summer to immerse myself in the Spanish Language and culture to further my perspective in my field. I plan to return back to college for a Masters in Piano Pedagogy. I have ample experience in working with private piano students, and I am passionate about connecting with students in a one-on-one setting. My content areas are Foreign Language and Music and I love to tutor both. I specialize in Spanish from beginning to advanced levels (Grammar, Reading, Writing Speaking, Culture), Basic Italian, Music Theory, English (Grammar, Reading, Composition), and Piano Performance and Technique. I am fluent in Spanish while my native language is English, so I am extremely compassionate for the struggles of learning a second language. My personal experience can aid to the perspective of the English Speaker learning Spanish.I am patient and determined to try any method possible to help my clients understand their content, and more importantly, to love their content. I am a firm believer that education is a privilege, not a job. I hope to apply my positive energy and enthusiasm towards educating my clients.

I hail from the small town of Lambertville, NJ, and have a BA in Political Science from Rutgers University and a BA in Diplomacy & International Relations from Seton Hall University. My passions lie in English, History, and teaching in general. I believe the quest for knowledge and understanding is paramount to living a better life.Based on my teaching experiences, I have developed a teaching philosophy that gives the students the room they need to create and take ownership of their studies. My goal is to foster independence in every student and allow these students to thrive individually and when working with others in group settings. My methods have been developed through my own experiences in the classroom and through observation of effective educators.I believe that a strong focus should be placed on reading comprehension and comparative analysis, for I firmly believe that students will understand the subject matter better and have a stronger sense for context of what they are studying if it is relayed to them in the proper framework. I want students to be able to explain the events instead of merely reading and repeating what is in their textbooks.I would describe my teaching style as very communicative, calm, and friendly, all while achieving great results from my students.

In 2007, I graduated from St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia with a dual degree in Elementary and Special Education. I found helping children and making a difference in the world became a passion throughout high school, and I wanted to continue this idea into adult hood. Immediately upon graduation, I landed my first teaching job in Plymouth Meeting, PA at a school for children with emotional exceptionalities. I then switched gears into a public middle school in Haddonfield, New Jersey. I continued along the special education track at this school, but found there was an incredible void in my life. Being young and wanting to travel the world, I decide to pursue teaching opportunities and other adventures in Maui, Hawaii where I taught 4th grade for several years. I have always been thirsty for traveling and experiencing new cultures, and Hawaii was what I needed. I then found myself extremely homesick after having my son, and returned to New Jersey where I currently educate 5th graders in an inclusion classroom.

Hi there!I recently graduated from Syracuse University with a dual degree in English and communications. I adore the written word and spreading that love of it to young students. In college, I worked as both a Resident Advisor and a tutor to undergraduate and graduate students. Both opportunities gave me the chance to work with, mentor, and educate peers on curricular and co-curricular studies. Sharing my love of reading and writing is a great thrill of mine and I feel honored to get such an opportunity to do so.In terms of academia, my dual degree lent me the chance to hone my communications skills (I now work full time at a television production company focusing on documentary-style TV) as well as my skills in English. As a result, I became well-educated in both classic literature as well as contemporary literary theory focusing on a variety of topics such as gender, media, class and social structure, and an assortment of other theories and topics (all of which I'd love to chat about if given the opportunity). In my downtime, I love exploring and trying new things (mainly food) and I'm an avid animal lover. Here's some additional trivia about me:I was originally born in Texas (Air Force family)Trying new restaurants is one of my favorite activitiesFavorite movie: The Right Stuff (that Air Force family clearly had an impact on me...)Favorite book(s): Nothing compares to the Harry Potter series, in my humble opinionFavorite animal: My two golden retrievers, Logan and Skylar (though my cats make a decent bid for this vote)Favorite TV show: Mad Men (nope, my company doesn't make it - but I'm genuinely hooked on this series)I warmly encourage you to contact me! I look forward to meeting you.-Erin

My attention to detail and persistence are what stand out about my perfectionist nature. I stop at nothing to accomplish whatever I set out to do, regardless of how long it takes. It's not easy to succeed. It takes time, discipline, and dedication; but if you put in all those things, success can be yours.

I am a student at the Honors College of Rutgers - New Brunswick. I am currently working towards attaining a B.S. in Biochemistry, as well as a minor in Business and Administration. Over the last five years, I have reconciled my passion for teaching and my desire to interact with fellow students through tutoring. While I have tutored in a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about science, math, and English. Having taught many students, each of whom were different in terms of personality and learning style, I understand the importance of tailoring the lesson to the student's strengths. As a result, I work to create unique, individualized learning plans that engage the student and make learning feel like an opportunity, rather than a chore.

I love biology and really enjoy helping others understand how biology applies to them and not just in an academic setting. I understand what it can feel like to struggle to understand a topic and would love the opprotunity to help others like me to keep their passion for their studies and to increase their understanding.

I am a senior graduating this year from Rutgers University and I will receive a bachelor's degree for Cell Biology and Neuroscience in 2021. I love to learn how the brain works and how our cells operate! I want to help struggling students by understanding your problems and approach problems in a way that will be easy for you. I am a student too, so I understand the struggle. I remember for one class in high school, I had problems doing the entire home work assignment but once I figured out an easy way compared to what we were taught in class, it was easy! There are a lot of classes like that! If you get frustrated with a course, no worries, I understand the feeling, just remember to breathe! In my spare time, I enjoy playing sports and I am looking to do cell research in the future. Hopefully we can learn, practice and succeed together soon!
