This spring, I graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ballet and a minor in Strategic Communication. During my time at the University of Utah, I received the Excellence in Research & Writing Award from my department; I love to help students find the joy in writing and literature studies! I also have a deep appreciation for the Latin language, and I enjoy assisting students in their study of Latin and helping them to see the numerous benefits of learning the classical language. Currently, I am a ballet dancer with Ballet 5:8 in the Chicago suburbs.I aim to personalize my approach to teaching for each student I tutor. I am passionate about helping students because it is something that I do for a living. I am currently a fifth grade teacher. I have been teaching for the last five years. I received my Bachelors of Science in Education, specifically Elementary Education from Illinois State University. I also have my endorsement in both English as a Second language and reading. The subjects that I tutor are elementary school math, reading, science, and writing. I can also tutor in English, math, reading, science, and writing. My favorite subjects to teach would be elementary math and algebra 1. I would describe my teaching philosophy and tutoring style as that it's okay to have to try again. We can always work toward a specific goal. We're in this together. Learning is not linear, our minds ebb and flow throughout our lives and it's okay if we don't get it right now. I am a RDH who has been practicing clinical hygiene for five years. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene, eager to pursue teaching opportunities in the field of dentistry. During my bachelor's program, I had the chance to experience teaching dental hygiene students which increased my interest in education. I am passionate about dental hygiene and love to help others. Throughout my hygiene education, I had terrific instructors who helped me grow in my career. I would love to be able to provide this same experience to dental hygiene students. The NBDHE for licensing can be difficult, but through my experience and education, I can provide help to those who need it. I am patient and understanding and can relate to what you are experiencing.
