I am a recent graduate from a masters program in biostatistics at Columbia University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in biological sciences, with a focus in neurobiology at Northwestern University. In August, I will be starting a doctoral program in biostatistics at NYU. I was a teaching assistant at Columbia University in my department and also have tutored graduate students and undergraduates privately as well. My primary areas of tutoring are math and statistics coursework in addition to math sections on standardized tests such as the GRE and GMAT. I am very passionate about helping students feel more confident and excited about math. In my spare time, I enjoy running, playing piano, and spending time with friends and family.

I am a doctor and I graduated from med school in 2016 and then took my USMLE exams .I have cleared all my USMLE exams and hoping to apply for residency this year. I love to teach and I always used to teach my fellows on medical subjects and they really liked the way I taught ,because I teach in a way that makes sense to students and I don't leave them until I'm successful in conveying what I intended to convey. Ask me as many questions as you want and I'll answer. Looking forward to teach you soon.

I am a junior at the University of Illinois at Chicago Honors College, where I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering with a focus in cell and tissue engineering. During high school, I worked in the literacy center, where I tutored fellow classmates and helped them with any classes that they were having trouble with. I enjoy tutoring because I acknowledge the two-way nature of it. Not only does tutoring help a tutee learn certain material, it also helps me master some old concepts. While I tutor a variety of subjects, one of my favorites is mathematics. I love teaching this subject because its concrete and builds problem-solving skills. I think that education is one of the most important facets of life since it directly shapes our future. With this in mind, I attempt to teach my students to the best of my ability. During my free time, I enjoy biking, playing the violin, and watching sports.

Hi!My name is Rain Sullivan, I am a recent Seattle Pacific University grad (June 2016) with a BS in Biology. As such I have an extensive and well-rounded education encompassing not only science but math, writing, English, and other various social studies. Furthermore, I have experience tutoring and laboratory assisting, both of which involved guiding peers to a greater understanding of course material and eventually success.Science is my favorite subject, sounds broad but it is true, I have honestly enjoyed all my science classes. From general biology, to genetics, from ecology, to biostatistics, I like it all. Science is amazing because it is so experimental and complex, but once understood truly fascinating and question-inducing. Math and analytical writing are a close second and third. Math, in my opinion, is great because (with a few exceptions) there are no if, buts, or maybes. Math is a dependable, rule-following subject, and that's why I like it. Though this may seem hard to believe, I have found that writing too can really be mastered by following some pretty straight forward guidelines. From writing dense, scientific-literature heavy lab reports to history papers and even creative essays, I've applied these rules and have found with a little time and dedication it is not as hard as it seems. Aside from school, I really love playing sports and hiking in the Pacific Northwest.I really love working with people and I believe education is extremely important. I enjoy teaching and think teaching can come in many forms (not just lecture-style teaching). Thus I have developed an array of study techniques that I personally have benefited from and have shared with others and seen them benefit from as well. I have really enjoyed getting an education, I am passionate about learning and would love to pass this passion along to other students.

I am a graduate student in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Michigan. I also received my Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Michigan. I intend to go to dental school after completing my Master's degree. I have had a lot of experience tutoring in the sciences, having tutored calculus through the University help center and being an instructional assistant in Electrical Biophysics. I have had the opportunity to work with many different kinds of people with varying backgrounds and ages not only through my tutoring experience but also through my experience teaching karate since 2013 as a third degree black belt. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, my passion lies in mathematics and physics. I find that many concepts, not only in the sciences, can be broken down into fundamental concepts that make them easier to understand just like these subjects.

I am a graduate of Southern Methodist University (SMU) and Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences, and my Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy in Cultural Anthropology from SMU. I received a Masters in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health (JHU-BSPH). In addition I received an Andrew Mellon post-doctoral fellowship to study Global Health and Epidemiology at JHU-BSPH. Since completion of my post-doctoral fellowship, I taught for five years in the Department of Anthropology at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) where I developed a graduate program in Global Health. While at CWRU, I developed and was funded for four research projects, two integrating anthropological and epidemiological methods to study HIV transmission among Baganda women and men in Uganda; and two ascertaining the social, cultural, and behavioral determinants of diarrheal disease in children in Nepal and Nigeria. After my fifth year at CWRU, I was offered a position as a Research Associate at Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health where I served as Senior Technical Advisor in Population and Health at the United States Agency for International Development in the Office of Women in Development. I then was awarded a post-doctoral fellowship in Urban Health and HIV Prevention at the University of Illinois at Chicago in the Department of Psychology, in the Division of Community Psychology. During this post-doctoral fellowship, I gained knowledge of HIV transmission in the United States and also served as a Visiting Research Scientist in the Department of Epidemiology at the School of Public Health at the University of Illinois in Chicago.I then moved to Mississippi where I served as Director of a Condom Social Marketing Program among African American crack cocaine users in Jackson, Mississippi.I returned to the Washington, D.C. area to obtain my Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Georgetown University. I currently am a Registered Nurse in the state of Pennsylvania. Following receipt of my nursing degree, I accepted a position as a Grants Officer and Senior Technical Writer in the Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities at the National Institutes of Health. In 2012, I began teaching at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, in both the Department of Anthropology and the Department of Sociology. I taught Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences (an introductory statistics course) eight times for the Department of Sociology, and I taught Social Statistics three times during this period. (2012-2020).In the spring of 2020, I moved my base of operations to the Community College of Philadelphia (CCP), where I taught predominantly African American students who are graduates of Philadelphia public high schools. I have taught Introduction to Anthropology (a four-field approach), Introduction to Cultural Anthropology, and African Peoples and Cultures. I am slated to teach Introduction to Cultural Anthropology in the fall semester of 2021 at CCP, and Global Health at La Salle University. My favorite aspect of teaching at CCP is the individual tutoring I do over Zoom with individual students. I work closely with them to improve their writing style and to critically analyze what they read in each course that I teach. I feel that education should be transformative, and I work diligently to make this process happen both in class and when I undertake individual tutoring.I tutor in a broad range of subjects (statistics, the social sciences, public health and global health, cultural anthropology, medical anthropology, and SAT/GRE preparation (specifically in the verbal ability and writing sections), I am most passionate about tutoring in statistics and public health/global health.I want to help students learn the quantitative reasoning skills and critical analysis skills which will be needed when they graduate and enter the workplace.I love teaching and imparting the excitement I feel about the courses I both teach and tutor in. I edit manuscripts for students and teach them the skills of self-editing their own work.Education is my life's work. I love to teach students in high school, community college, undergraduates in universities, and graduate students who are pursing their Masters or Ph.D.
