I am a recent graduate of Bowdoin College with a BA in Biology, English, and Theater. I have been tutoring pretty steadily in one form or another since middle school and am quite comfortable tackling diverse subjects in both the arts and sciences. As a native Spanish speaker, reader, and writer I have years of experience tutoring students at all proficiency levels in the language. My bilingual background has also given me the opportunity to work with native Spanish speakers in other academic subjects. I bring a compassionate and collaborative approach to teaching. I then graduated from Parkland College with an Associate in Applied Science in Veterinary Technology. I am currently a graduate student, getting my Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy with a Specialization in Child and Adolescent Family Therapy. I am dedicated to helping in any way I can. I have been a CVT for 15 years, working in an ER for 11 of those years. It was an exciting experience and I learned so much about veterinary medicine. Since my hospital is a teaching hospital I had many opportunities to help both veterinarian interns and veterinary technician students learn as we helped care for our patients. I have a passion for biology and the life sciences. I enjoy showing students how to look at their studies in a new way, helping them make more sense of what they are learning. I am on the pre-med track, with hopes of working internationally with nonprofits as a doctor. I am involved in tutoring programs such as Students Expanding Austin Literacy and The Education Project, the first of which is in person tutoring and the latter being online instruction. I love working on a wide variety of tutoring subjects, but specifically the sciences and english subjects.
