Hello! I have extensive experience tutoring students in SAT/ACT prep, AP test prep, writing and reading comprehension, and math. As a tutor, I make it my priority to focus on each specific problem while also making sure that the student understands the broader concepts as a whole. In high school I tutored my sports teammates as well as younger students who needed assistance editing and workshopping essays. I am currently enrolled as an applied accounting and finance major at the Fordham Gabelli School of Business where I'm taking business statistics and calculus classes alongside writing and economics classes. In my free time, I watch tons of basketball and football and love action movies.

I started as sub for the local school district where I lived after graduating with my bachelor's in political science with a minor in Criminal Justice from University of Texas Brownsville. I tutored students online in English and essay writing while working on my Masters in English and Creative Writing from Southern New Hampshire. After graduating, I taught English online to kids, teenagers, and adults from China. We worked on everything from phonics, to learning how to write sentences and paragraphs and conversational skills. While doing this, I decided to go back to school for my second masters. I completed my masters in English as Second language from University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Fall 2020. While working on my masters, I was a teaching assistant for the writing department. I taught first year writing courses to students entering college. I love teaching because as someone who struggled as child due to dyslexia, it was the teachers who supported me that helped me to overcome my learning challenges. I also feel that anyone can learn a subject even if they struggle. They just need to learn how they learn best and to remember that it is a process. That mistakes may be made along the way, but you can get better.Currently, I am working on my PhD in leadership studies because someday I would like to open up a non-profit to help young kids who are struggling with tough issues. One thing I always tell people is that I will forever be a student-teacher because I learn something new from each student or group of students I work with. My favorite subject to tutoring is the writing process because I believe that whatever field you choose to go into, you must learn how to write to be able to communicate with others. I currently tutor English and the writing process for all age groups and grade levels.

I believe that education is an article of classification and destination. The power of useful education provides guidance to the learner towards their dream positions and statuses in life. The goal of my teaching is to impact minds to make well informed decisions based on acquired knowledge.

I am an extremely well qualified tutor with many years of practical experience in subject matter combined with 4 years of teaching students. I believe education is the foundation of success. I grew up in a military family that was forced to relocate every few years, often internationally. As the result I became fluent in Russian, English, Spanish and proficient in French before I turned 18. As a freshman in college (2009), while studying International Studies, one of my classmates asked if I would help her prepare for the test in Advanced Placement Spanish and Literature. I agreed to help and therefore held my first tutoring session, and she ended up acing the test. This is when I found out I had a knack for teaching. My classmate was so happy with her results that she told her friends about it. Word of mouth got around, resulting in more and more students approaching me for help in foreign languages and social sciences, which started my career as a tutor. I began tutoring students in subjects like Spanish, Russian, ESL, as well as Psychology, Political Science, Criminal Justice and International Relations and undergraduate level Criminal law. Because I have been a student myself; I like to believe that I have an easy time relating to my clients and recognizing their educational needs. I find it extremely important that my students have fun during lessons, therefore I try to cater my lesson plans according to each student's individual learning style. I have a great deal of passion for education and the times when I notice results in my students, it makes my job as an educator that much more meaningful and fulfilling. I was a student of music for many years, and have a Bachelor's degree in Music from the University of Colorado, Boulder where I studied voice. Having been a serious student of music in the past, I of course enjoy classical music; my favorites these days are the Baroque masters.I have been teaching English courses online for several years now, and it's been an excellent job for me as a parent since the hours are so flexible. Now that my child is grown, I'm interested in spreading my wings a bit and meeting students face to face as a tutor.My favorite subjects to teach are English Composition, Rhetoric, and research essays. I also am a grammar nerd and love to help students build their skills in this area.I love animals of all kinds and have a dog and a cat, who don't really get along with each other! I spend too much time breaking up their little spats, I think. But I wouldn't give them up, mostly because they're so entertaining.I also enjoy baking and cooking ethnic foods, and since I live near the Mississippi River I take advantage of our running paths on a regular basis. I love to be outside in the fresh air.
