I have a Bachelor of Arts from Southern Methodist University. My major is World Languages French and Spanish and my minor is Economics. My graduating GPA was 3.67 and I am a member of several honor societies. I participated in the SMU study abroad program, and previously obtained an Associate of Arts in Teaching Degree in Foreign Languages with a GPA of 4.0.I also have over a year experience tutoring high school students in AVID program; moreover I was an intern for the French American Chamber of Commerce. I did my minor in Economics, which is the reason why I had to take many calculus courses and advanced math classes.I was born in Colombia, therefore my first language is Spanish; also I had the opportunity to study abroad in Paris while I was doing my undergrad career.I believe each student has the potential to master new concepts with the right approach and I will love to help you achieve your goals!!!

I earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Learning and Development from The University of Texas and a Master in Education Administration from Dallas Baptist University. While I have just recently retired from a 28-year career in education, I am still passionate about helping students achieve their personal best. I believe that all students can learn; They just may not be able to master concepts on the same day and in the same way as their peers. As a tutor, I get the distinct privilege of figuring out what is causing the student to struggle and support the child in overcoming the challenge. My goal is for the student to not only master content but to learn effective strategies that can be employed in new learning situations as well as build the self-confidence needed to be an independent learner.

As far as I can remember, I've been the go-to guy when you wanted help with a subject, whether it was advanced mathematical concepts during my Bachelors Degree days, or software engineering principals in my Masters degree program. It was for this reason that I was specifically picked out by one of my professors to be his teaching assistant for two semesters of classes before I graduated. So confident was he in my skills that he was able to go around the requirement that TA-ships be only handed out to Phd level students.After graduating with a Master's Degree in Computer Sciences from the University of Texas at Arlington, I've been involved in a number of software development jobs including my current one in a Fortune 100 company. I can can back up my academic knowledge with extensive industry experience. However I haven't lost touch with teaching as I'm still called upon by friends for consultation about software engineering and design concepts.I'm computer enthusiast enjoys tinkering with hardware and software in my spare time and am pretty confident in my computer science teaching abilities. And since math goes hand in hand with computers, I'm well versed in math subjects as well.

I tutor many math and physics subjects but my favorite is calculus 1 because of how much students' perspectives of math change while taking the course. I have scored well on the SAT and many AP exams.
