I received a B.A. in Environmental Science and Policy at California State University Long Beach in 2009. I began my graduate studies in 2011 where I also taught undergraduate students for a year in courses pertaining to environmental sustainability and climate change. As part of my graduate program I went from 2012-2014 to Peace Corps in Mexico helping with water projects. In June 2015 I completed my M.S. in Environmental Studies from Florida International University in Miami, Florida. Since 2015, I work at the Environmental Protection Agency and continue to volunteer with a nonprofit, Mariposas, that helps young women in Mexico. Outside of my work, I enjoy water sports, running, and music. I love science and Spanish and hope to share my enthusiasm with students!

I am a recent graduate of the University of Richmond, where I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature, with a a minor in Creative Writing. I have studied Essay Writing at Oxford University and Literature at Harvard University. In my free time, I am a volunteer for several charitable organizations such as Romanian Children's Relief, Stop Hunger Now, and Relay for Life.Though I tutor in a wide variety of topics, I am most passionate about English. I am a highly skilled writer and editor who can provide valuable tutoring to any student struggling with the written word. Most importantly, my methods of teaching can help encourage students to regain the confidence in themselves needed to feel prepared and at ease in any academic setting.Next year, I plan to go back to school to get my Master's Degree in Publishing or Digital Journalism. I am also currently in the process of writing a novel of Young Adult Literature featuring a strong and insightful female hero.

I have over three years of teaching experience at private tutoring companies, UC Berkeley, UC Berkeley's Summer Bridge Program, and as a freelance political science/calculus tutor (there's more overlap than you think). In 2014, my paper "Set Theory and Fuzzy Sets: Their Relationship to Natural Language" was published in the Newsletter of the American Political Science Association Organized Section for Qualitative and Multi-Method Research. I'm fond of good food and bad puns. In my free time, I wish I had more free time.

I am a Senior at UC Berkeley, expecting to graduate next spring with a degree in Engineering Physics. Since I began tutoring, it has always been my philosophy to make sure the student understands a subject by breaking down concepts in the easiest way. My passion for the sciences drives me to not only teach what is on paper, but offer deeper insights to the material. I also love to laugh, and because of that, I try to make sessions light hearted, and less intimidating. Furthermore, as a problem solver, I will stop at nothing to ensure a student succeeds and fully understands a subject.

As a UC Berkeley graduate and community college Instructional Assistant, I have developed a passion for education and personal tutoring. Years of experience writing creatively, academically, and professionally have provided me with the skills necessary to assist students of all ages with their essays and homework. Whether the student is just getting started with brainstorming and idea development or putting the final touches on a paper and in need of help revising and editing, I am here to assist and encourage in any way possible.
