I am a PhD graduate student currently studying analytical chemistry at Howard University. I have a Bachelors and Masters degree in Chemistry and have always found science interesting. My first teaching experience started while I was an undergraduate student. During that time, I participated as an executive board member in Howard Universitys chapter of the American Chemical Society in which I provided tutoring services to undergraduate general chemistry students. As a graduate student, I work as a teacher's assistant in general, analytical, and organic chemistry labs. I assist students inside and outside of the lab and grade papers. I enjoy teaching and have found that the art of teaching is being able to draw a mental picture in another persons mind in order for the person to truly understand a concept. The research I do in graduate school involves the study of inorganic complexes that mimic the catalytic properties of metalloenzymes. I enjoy basketball, pool and working out during my spare time.

In 2010 I was appointed an Adjunct Professor at the Uniformed Services University. I was the team lead in Tropical Medicine for the team that went to Ghana. I have a BS in Biology from Lebanon Valley College Annville PA, MD from Penn State College of Medicine Hershey PA, MTM&H from Uniformed Services University and currently a Masters in Project Management student at the University of Maryland, College Park. I love teaching and as a side effect I love learning.

I'm a MA candidate in International Economics and China Studies at Johns Hopkins, and an aspiring foreign policy professional. My approach to tutoring emphasizes big picture ideas and building a student's sense of intuition. My best professors and teachers have emphasized that it takes more than memorization to be a good learner. Likewise, I try to make students comfortable with the subjects that they learn and help them feel like they're capable of navigating subjects on their own when studying, practicing, or doing homework.Some of my subjects include Economics, English, World History, and Chinese. Because my professional field emphasizes an interdisciplinary approach, I like to stay curious about these subjects and consider myself a lifelong learner of just about any subject, both quantitative and qualitative. Mathematical coursework includes Calculus I, Calculus II, Calculus II, Linear Algebra and Differential Equations, and Statistics for Engineering Majors. Additionally, my Mechanical Engineering coursework has required the consistent use of multivariable calculus and complex algebraic analysis. I have found that my skills have grown extensively through these courses, as I apply my mathematical knowledge each and every day of my studies. Additionally, I have held multiple positions in the Johns Hopkins Chapter of the Alpha Delta Phi, with the most recent being Philanthropy Chair. I have experience teaching dance classes to adults and children, editing/reviewing many of my friends' personal statements/college essays, helping my classmates with general biology/ anatomy & physiology, and teaching middle school students math and English/ESL.
