I believe that getting a student from A to B is certainly critical, but what is even more essential is the 'aha' moment when a difficult problem clicks, a love for writing comes about, a passion is ignited, and/or inspiration is born. This is what makes a student a lifelong learner who doesn't shy away from a challenge or the unknown. I like to inject fun and humor into learning and am the product of some really excellent educators who I like to think inform my teaching style.My tutoring experience began nearly four years ago when I began working with an organization that helps prepare under-served students for the SAT and the college admissions process. I enjoyed breaking students' preconceived notions about what they could and could not do, and I value the interpersonal relationships with my students that I was able to create and maintain to this day.I graduated with my undergrad in 2012 with degrees in International Relations and Spanish, and I was awarded Distinguished Honors in International Relations. I also minored in Latin American Studies and studied abroad for a semester in Madrid.

A patient, friendly and well-educated tutor willing to help anyone with doubts in my specialized topics and more. Currently pursuing a Computer Science: Data Science degree from the University of Maryland, College Park with a minor in Statistics. I tutor various math topics and select computer science topics as well. I believe that everyone has the ability to learn anything, they just have to be taught the way they learn best. I strive to create an environment where there are no dumb questions so students are not embarrassed by their inquisitiveness.

I graduated from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. I am passionate about educating others in biology and earth sciences; I think the natural history of life on Earth is the most fascinating topic in the world, and I want to share my passion for it with others. I try to tailor study plans to students' learning styles, and I am sensitive to the needs of students with disabilities. In my free time I enjoy drawing, painting, gardening, taking walks, and pilates. Eventually, I hope to get involved in wildlife conservation outreach.

I enjoy teaching many Business Administration courses to my students. I am all about helping my students feel confident and add to their knowledge base.I believe that learning is an ongoing process that doesn't end with passing an exam, it extends beyond that to add value to our lives and be put into use.

After I graduated from Tennessee State University, I started working as a private English tutor. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education. I taught preschool for 6 years. I have been homeschooling my own children for 11 years and have loved teaching them all to read. I am most passionate about teaching reading because once a child learns to read their confidence soars and there is nothing they cannot learn!

I love the sports world and outside of the office I enjoy basketball, golf, and skiing, and watching movies. There's a pretty good chance my word problems will relate to one of those activities.I'm excited to help students build a strong base of understanding that will allow them to confidently walk into the classroom and tackle the material in front of them. I like to start small and simple, keeping things positive along the way to help students build confidence and an enthusiasm for solving problems.
