I have always been very passionate about learning. Growing up hiking and exploring, my fascination with the natural world was at the forefront of my educational goals. I was always curious about the mixed deciduous forest in my backyard or the rock quarries my friends and I went to on school breaks. I guess it makes sense then that I went on to study geology and biochemistry at Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota. While my desire to engage with the natural world persists, this past fall I began an MD/PhD program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska to achieve my dream of becoming a physician-scientist. With a rich history of working as a tutor and mentor for students from a variety of backgrounds, I am incredibly excited to dedicate myself to helping students amidst one of the greatest public health crises of our time. I have worked with students at both ends of the academic spectrum on not only traditional classroom subjects but also in a 'future preparation and planning' context. I am passionate about finding the best way for a student to learn and often times that encourages me to get outside of my comfort zone and re-imagine the problems in a way my student can best understand them. I am patient, outgoing, a fast learner and am excited to be a resource for you and/or your student!

ACT Prep Tutor • +21 Subjects

I graduated high school with a class of 11, so all throughout elementary and high school I was asked by classmates to help with homework. I found that I was often able to explain concepts in a way that the teachers did not, so that my classmates could understand. And I enjoyed helping them, finding I had a talent at them and feeling a sense of satisfaction whenever I saw someone grasp a concept.I've been doing unofficial tutoring like that all throughout school, but have had some more formal experience as well. During high school, I volunteered in our elementary to help the kids with homework after school. I trained with the ACT prep club at my university to help high school students learn how to take the ACT as successfully as possible. I am also a teaching assistant for one of the psychology professors, and I help students in introduction to psychology learn concepts and prep for exams.I went to Lindsay Holy Family High School and am a junior at Creighton University, where I major in Psychology and Theology, with a minor in Spanish. I am working towards my BA.I tutor in ACT prep, various math classes (i.e. Algebra I and Geometry), Spanish, psychology, and essay editing. I really enjoy tutoring in psychology, since I am experienced with it and love the subject matter (obviously, as it is my major!).My teaching philosophy is to help the student to help themselves. I try to make sure someone has a good grasp on the concept, rather than just the single question, so that they can succeed on similar problems in the future. I try to explain something in as many different ways as necessary.I enjoy reading and running. I also like listening to K-pop and K-dramas. I am Roman Catholic and very involved in my parish, helping out with lecturing and other ministries.

I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy before then graduating from Creighton University's School of Law. I am passionate about teaching because of the unusual path I took to academia.I left high school in 9th grade and didn't return until my early 20's. However, upon returning, I hit the ground running and never looked back. After graduating from Creighton Law, I received my Divorce Mediator certification, attended both the State and Federal Tax schools offered through the State of Iowa, and passed my Securities Industry Essentials examinations.I am a lifelong learner and am dedicated to being the best student, teacher, and mentor. I'm a father to three boys, and teaching my sons the path to success is my greatest job.

I am a native Francophone originally from Gabon (West- Central Africa). I reside in Omaha, Nebraska, and yes I am a Huskers fan! Besides English, I am fluent in French (of course), Spanish, and I am currently working on my German. Though, I am completing a Bachelors degree in International Relations with a concentration in African Studies, I take a huge interest in American Studies, which I am planning on getting a Masters in.Here is my favorite quote which best translates my passion for languages and the reason I will make it easy and fun for you: "Speak to a man in a language he/she understands, and it goes to his/head head; Speak to a man in his/her language, and it goes to his/her heart" Nelson Mandela

I am a 4th-year student at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience, along with a Bachelor of Arts in English.I was an IB diploma student in high school and took various AP classes. These include: IB Physics HL, AP Physics, IB Math HL, AP Calculus BC, AP Biology, and more. I have taken bachelor and graduate level courses for the Neuroscience and English majors.Working with students comes naturally to me. I am currently an assistant debate coach for a successful program at The Blake School. In the past, I have taught dance to elementary and middle schoolers. I believe that tutoring and teaching are one of the most important things in a student's life. When I tutor, first I aim to recognize how a student best processes and applies knowledge. Insight into a student's learning style ensures that both the student and I are efficiently using our time. I further this efficiency by being prepared for every session when it starts and being transparent with families about progress.I have, and currently tutor, a wide variety of subjects, from standardized testing to many high school courses. I have no preference for subjects and am willing to provide material or use any material provided by the student ahead of time.

NPTE - National Physical Therapy Examination Tutor • +1 Subjects

I graduated in May of 2020 from Creighton with my DPT. Prior to physical therapy school, I attended Northwest Missouri State University and received my B.S. in both biology and psychology. I've always loved helping others, thus leading me into the field of physical therapy! Throughout my undergraduate and graduate studies, I've always found joy in helping other students as it benefits us both. My tutoring style definitely focuses on the reasoning of how you got to the answer rather than if you got the right answer. Many of my exercises are very situation based (as in "a patient with x,y,and z walks into your clinic...what do you do?").
