Now I am a museum educator at the Brooklyn Museum, where I work with students of all ages and abilities to facilitate learning about art and art history. My love for tutoring come from having always been the top of my classes and helping family and friends with different subject areas so they can not only improve their grades, but also gain more confidence in regard to the subject in hand.I am creative about approaching a student, determine his/her weakness that causes his/her low grade or lack of confidence and provide him/her with tools or techniques that help overcome the weakness and become very confident instead.

I moved to Portland in July 2016 after spending the last seventeen years living and working in New York City. The bulk of my professional experience as a web designer and developer came between the years of 1999 and 2010, when I worked at firms such as Simple Circle LLC, Bozell Inc, and Admaster Communications. My daily tasks ranged from sketching and designing interfaces, to planning sitemaps and experiences, to developing sites in HTML5 / CSS / JavaScript, to animating in Flash, to creating custom content management systems for clients in PHP and MySQL.While I've been teaching web and interactive design since 2002, since 2011 I've been doing so almost exclusively. My full time position was at The Art Institute of New York City, but I taught additional adjunct classes at Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), New York City College of Technology (City Tech), and York College.

I am currently attending Oberlin College of Arts and Science. My majors are Mathematics, Chemistry and Biochemistry and I plan on attending medical school right after graduating. I am a student athlete: part of the Swim and Dive team and the Track and Field team.It is my passion to help young kids exceed in the academic world through: help understand difficult concepts, create better studying skills, organize the work/thoughts when doing a specific problem and seeing how a student works and tell the parents what they can do to make sure their child succeeds.

I believe one of the most important qualities a person can have is a continuing thirst for knowledge. This thirst isn't measured by grades on a test or how much trivia one can regurgitate or by IQ, but by the ability to think critically about the world - which begins with solid foundations in math, science, and language. Increasingly, as society continues exponentially towards automation and the global exchange of superfluous information, our roles will shift from simple workers to stewards of this growing library. In order to innovate for the future - to deconstruct arguments, reach rational conclusions and develop new ideas - students today will need the fundamental understanding that the giants before them developed.I'm grateful for all of the opportunities I had to enrich my own understanding and cement my passion for learning: patient, creative teachers, a welcoming environment, and people to challenge me. I hope to bring that very passion to every student I tutor, and to help them find ways to achieve whatever they set their minds to.

I have experience working with students of all ages and skill levels, including those with physical, cognitive, developmental, behavioral, and learning disabilities. I am currently only offering remote/online sessions due to Covid-19.

Hi I'm Tejus!I am an incoming PhD candidate and I graduated cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science while also being on the Pre-med track at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. My goal is to help students grasp concepts they might struggle with particularly within the fields of Math and Science. I use lesson plans in which I usually introduce the topic in a unique way to target the specific student. After which I proceed to not only go through step-by-step examples, but also provide plenty of practice problems for the student to improve their abilities on their own.I have roughly 4+ years of tutoring experience. During college I tutored both middle and high school students in the Troy Public School System. Before then, I also tutored students in Geometry and introductory level Biology as a senior in highschool. Along with that, as a part of my volunteer organization, I also tutored several students in lower income areas of the greater Albany region. These sessions ranged from traditional 1-on-1 meetings to classroom style discussions. My focus is primarily on ACT, SAT, and GRE preparation while also mentoring younger students in Biology, Geometry, and Algebra.When meeting a student for the first time, my objective is to gain an understanding of their abilities. Based on the results of their baseline assessment, I like to craft individualized plans to help them improve their weak spots and become better test takers. I like to work on practice problems with students to make sure they are understanding the appropriate thought process for each type of problem. From there I try to reinforce the material by giving them problems to work on at home.
