I'm a second year MD/PhD student currently enjoying medical school. I'm a laid back guy who loves to teach and help people understand topics. I also enjoy teaching people new ways to learn, allowing them to spend less time studying and more time enjoying other activities, like playing soccer or exploring around their city.

I am working as a Research Assistant at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in the Department of Transplant Surgery. Though I enjoy working in research, I truly love educating others in anyway that I can. My most recent tutoring experience was during the summer of 2014, in which I taught algebra to a middle school student. In high school, I tutored many of my peers in Spanish, mathematics, chemistry, psychology, and biology. I personally love tutoring both math and biology because the material is interesting and also fun to learn! As a tutor, I always try to relate the material at hand to specific interests of my student. I find that a student understands topics better when we find a way to equate his or her own hobby to the material. With that, I really seek out what the student enjoys doing and use their hobbies as positive reinforcements for learning. Personally, my interests include music (vocal and instrumental), sports, Harry Potter, superheroes, and juggling.

I am passionate about. As a chemical engineering student at Vanderbilt University, I have always been passionate about learning math and science. I have also particularly excelled in these fields, perhaps due to my passion, and I managed to score a 790 on the math SAT and SAT II. I also took 5 AP Exams as a high school student, receiving 5s in Calculus BS, statistics, computer science, biology, and chemistry. At my university, I received an honors scholarship for my academic performance in engineering, and I currently aspire to continue my education at a higher level. As a tutor, I will motivate students, set clear goals, and help students progress towards a higher level of understanding.

I am a recent graduate of University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Womens & Gender Studies. Having been a science nerd throughout high school, I knew that I would want to study biochemistry at university, but I also wanted to strengthen my writing, analytical, and research abilities in a non-scientific context. So focusing on both was perfect for me because I was able to develop analytical and problem-solving skills in two very different contexts. Having this background also allows me to feel comfortable tutoring a range of subjects.

I am a fourth year Medical Student in the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education at CCNY. This is a seven year BS/MD program, so by the end of the seven years, I will have achieved both degrees. I have a lot of tutoring experience in the K-12 age especially in the 7-12 grade range. I have taught SAT, SHSAT, ACT, SAT subject tests and Regents exams as well. My favorite subject to tutor is math and biology, but I am able to tutor other subject areas like reading, writing, chemistry, and physics. My tutoring style is very student oriented with some lecturing. I make sure that most of the time I am asking questions, even if it is basic, just to get the student to always be on his/her feet. I also make sure to use a lot of diagrams and flow charts when teaching. Outside of school, I spend a lot of time exploring and doing photography. I am currently a lead preschool teacher. I received my Bachelor's in Psychology from VCU and am looking to return to school to further my education. While in college, I worked as a Supplemental Instruction leader, teaching general biology and anatomy. I have also worked in an after school program with elementary age children, but I have my fondest memories volunteering as a counselor for Camp Kesem. In my own experience, I loved school and now I love teaching even more at all age levels! I especially enjoy the challenge of getting creative to discover what approach and mediums work best for each student. I am available for in person as well as online tutoring.

I am a junior pre-med student studying health management at Saint Louis University. I began tutoring my peers in high school and continued my passion for teaching throughout college. I tutor high school students studying for the SAT and ACT. I also tutor math, science, and spanish. I recognize that every student has a different style of learning and I plan each lesson according to the student. My goal is to help my students achieve their goals and realize their potential. I am a 2016 alumna of Cornell University, graduating summa cum laude in Anthropology with a minor in Global Health. I also participated in the pre-med curriculum, taking courses in Physics, Biology, Chemistry, and Math. During my senior year, I tutored students from the Department of Athletics and the Office of Academic and Diversity Initiatives in Calculus I. I am passionate about helping others gain the skills, confidence, and understanding to achieve academic success.

I am a graduate of the University of Notre Dame (ND), where I received my Bachelor of Science in Science Pre-Professional Studies (pre-medicine) and a minor in Anthropology. During my time at ND, I tutored Freshman ND students in organic and inorganic chemistry for two and a half years. Some of my other extracurricular activities included founding the World Health Assimilation Through Notre Dame (WHAT ND) club, participating in rare and neglected diseases research, and volunteering in my local communities. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about science (chemistry and biology), math (K-college), and Chinese. I believe that a solid education is an important foundation for an individual's future and the future of humanity. In my spare time, I enjoy playing the piano, cooking, playing a wide variety of sports (i.e. Zumba, tennis, swimming), and reading.
