I received my Bachelor of Science in Biology from Duke University with a concentration in animal behavior. I enjoy Biology because it sheds light on who we are and where we are from, plus it is a great excuse to be outside. I have experience teaching people who struggle with English from teaching in Taiwan as well as tutoring SAT prep locally to immigrants. My strongest subjects are Math and Science. When I teach I try to use examples and explain some study methods I use to make learning faster. I also know a few tricks to help save time and make the standardized test taking process a little bit smoother. Right now I am working on getting my pilot licenses and when I have some free time I enjoy music, basketball and video games.

I'm a recent mathematics graduate from the University of North Texas. I do research in algebra and geometry, and I also love to teach. I've been tutoring for over 3 years now privately and with a company called Mathnasium. I have grown to become very passionate about teaching and I'm constantly trying to improve my technique so that I can help my students truly learn.I tutor subjects anywhere from Algebra I and II to Calculus III, and beyond (any undergraduate mathematics course (other than, perhaps, probability and statistics)). I also teach test preparation for various high school and undergraduate tests such as the ACT/SAT and GRE or GMAT. I love to teach these subjects, and I've been doing so for the three years I've been a tutor. I like to guide students in training them how to ask themselves questions, rather than me giving direct information to them. I feel that this is the best way to learn a subject. On the side, I like to teach guitar and drawing.

In preparation for teaching, I have received my Bachelor's degree in Dietetics at Brigham Young University, and then continued my training to become a registered dietitian. This training has provided enlightening moments that affirmed my commitment to help others and specifically to help people develop a healthy understanding of the relationship between food and quality of life. For two years I worked with the Texas Cooperative Extension Service and SNAP-Ed program, giving me the opportunity to teach many families. As I tutor, my desire is to guide students through questions and discussions to assist them to seek for deeper knowledge and understanding; I am confident and comfortable tutoring for professional certifications including the CDR exams for DTRs and RDs. I also have a strong foundation in mathematics, and would love to tutor elementary and middle school math.
