During college, I spent some time at the Columbus Literacy Council, where I helped adults learn to read and develop English skills. I enjoy tutoring math because you can do so much with it. Mathematics provides a variety of useful tools that can be used in a variety of different places. My tutoring style is to help the student learn how to break down problems into smaller, more manageable pieces. By teaming up with parents and teachers, I help each one of my students stay organized and motivated to do well in school.During my small group instruction sessions, I help my students by using games and songs to study pertinent information. I also incorporate Gardners Multiple Intelligences into my sessions to cater to the learning styles of each of my students.
