Reflecting on my educational experiences, I appreciate the immeasurable impact that teachersmake on the lives of young people. As I got my degree in Biological Science, I have the most confidence in teaching those subjects up to college students level. i am also working hard towards getting my DDS(Doctor of Dental Surgery) and we focus a lot in the science subjects.My experience teaching various students with different characteristics enabled me to find a effective way to tutor different people. I am able to manage challenging behavior effectively, conduct activities safely and communicate with people from diverse backgrounds. Further, I am very creative and enjoysourcing materials that make learning interesting. Currently enrolled in MBA program at University of Houston- Downtown work as a Smart Operations Analyst at a reputable firm. The courses I have completed have given me a solid foundation in the tools, processes and methodologies involved in the successful analysis and management of different strategies. While at Duke University I was a student athlete, participated in the leadership of several clubs and service groups; as well as, working as a Math and Reading tutor. After graduation I spent a year pursing a business venture allotted to me through the Elevator Pitch Competition, my senior year of college, which I won in my category - Non-Profits. After that year, I joined the Teach for America Fellowship, where I fell in love with teaching. The Teach for America Fellowship is 2 years; however, after my first year due to the recognition and growth in my classroom I was invited to start a school. I spent 2 years at that school prior to getting married and moving to California, a few months ago, with my amazing, aerospace loving, husband.Moving out here I knew I didn't want to go back into the classroom, but I wanted to find ways to support teachers and students, as they work toward reaching their goals. I decided to jump back into tutoring. Tutoring allows me to work with students whose needs aren't being met fully in the classroom and the supplement the handwork that each teacher puts into the education plans of their students. I have been tutoring all types of students from Special Needs to Gifted for 9 years. I have a ton of strategies for a variety of subjects and have seen my students grow leaps and bounds in confidence, skill, and ability.I love the challenge of uncovering a child's weaknesses, creating the opportunity for them to discover what they are capable of, and the excitement of seeing their faces light up once they realize, they can do it. Nothing brings me more joy then seeing children walk in the fullness of their potential.

My lifelong teaching philosophy is that fostering growth and curiosity in others can lead to academic success.As for my own career goals, the current plan is applying to MD/PhD programs and PhD programs in the next two years for neurology or neuroscience. I currently work as a researcher at Kennedy Krieger Institute studying the molecular etiology and mechanisms of enterovirus-D68- mediate acute flaccid myelitis (AFM). My master's thesis was on ubiquitination and protein insolubility in model olfactory epithelial cells from patients with schizophrenia which correlates with poorer cognitive performance - a paper is in review for the high-impact journal Molecular Psychiatry.In my free time, I like to play piano, cook, make coffee, and learn about anything and everything. I came to St. Louis from New Jersey on a full 4 year basketball scholarship to Saint Louis University. I have been a college Mathematics Instructor for 20+ years. I have taught Mathematics online for 4+ years and I have tutored students in all levels of Mathematics for 20+ years. I am quite passionate about math and basketball. My 2 favorite topics to talk about. Although I like all sports and am an avid Cardinals and Blues fan as well.
