I believe one of the most important qualities a person can have is a continuing thirst for knowledge. This thirst isn't measured by grades on a test or how much trivia one can regurgitate or by IQ, but by the ability to think critically about the world - which begins with solid foundations in math, science, and language. Increasingly, as society continues exponentially towards automation and the global exchange of superfluous information, our roles will shift from simple workers to stewards of this growing library. In order to innovate for the future - to deconstruct arguments, reach rational conclusions and develop new ideas - students today will need the fundamental understanding that the giants before them developed.I'm grateful for all of the opportunities I had to enrich my own understanding and cement my passion for learning: patient, creative teachers, a welcoming environment, and people to challenge me. Hi I'm Tejus!I am an incoming PhD candidate and I graduated cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science while also being on the Pre-med track at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. My goal is to help students grasp concepts they might struggle with particularly within the fields of Math and Science. I use lesson plans in which I usually introduce the topic in a unique way to target the specific student. After which I proceed to not only go through step-by-step examples, but also provide plenty of practice problems for the student to improve their abilities on their own.I have roughly 4+ years of tutoring experience. During college I tutored both middle and high school students in the Troy Public School System. Before then, I also tutored students in Geometry and introductory level Biology as a senior in highschool. Along with that, as a part of my volunteer organization, I also tutored several students in lower income areas of the greater Albany region. These sessions ranged from traditional 1-on-1 meetings to classroom style discussions. My focus is primarily on ACT, SAT, and GRE preparation while also mentoring younger students in Biology, Geometry, and Algebra.When meeting a student for the first time, my objective is to gain an understanding of their abilities. Based on the results of their baseline assessment, I like to craft individualized plans to help them improve their weak spots and become better test takers. I like to work on practice problems with students to make sure they are understanding the appropriate thought process for each type of problem. From there I try to reinforce the material by giving them problems to work on at home. Academia has always been an important aspect of my life. I have always taken my studies pretty seriously, but I took a greater interest in them during high school. I attended a private school where I was given the opportunity to discover a large range of topics I had never thought about pursuing, such as engineering and biomedical sciences. In college, I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics, while minoring in Arabic and gaining a certificate in Middle Eastern and North African studies. During this period, I started tutoring at my school's academic success center. I truly enjoy helping students understand the content necessary to succeed in their academic endeavors, but I also offer my students study and organization tips that will carry over to various aspects of their lives. Currently, I am pursuing my Master's degree in Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Chicago, which I commute to from Milwaukee.

I am a rising sophomore at Case Western Reserve University studying engineering. I have taken most high-school level standardized tests, and have scored consistently above the 95th percentile. I have tutored small groups of students throughout high school, and also have experience as a private tutor. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy playing Ultimate Frisbee with my college club team.

I received my Bachelor of Science as a Biology and Spanish double major at Temple University, where I will continue for dental school starting in the Fall of 2022! My dedication to studying and teaching Biology and Spanish comes from recognizing a need for more Spanish-speaking healthcare providers. Some of the various experiences I have include: performing scientific research, interning at a health clinic that caters to native Spanish-speakers, and living with a host-family during my study abroad in Spain. None of these impactful opportunities would have been possible without guidance from my past teachers. So, I enjoy returning the favor to my students in two subjects that I am extremely passionate about. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, working out, watching the Philadelphia 76ers, and traveling to explore what our world has to offer.

My job allows me to be a good team player and communicator with high attention to detail and accuracy.While at Meicai.cn (An online platform that enables farmers to sell vegetables to small and medium-sized restaurants), I was responsible for using data visualization techniques to illustrate our ideas to the sales and marketing departments. Working closely with other departments allowed me to hone my interpersonal skills and the ability to present complex technical information to non-technical personnel. My position gave me the opportunity to solve the problems always on behalf of our clients.When I was a student I always summarized my learning process and faults I made so that when people asked me about homework questions I could reflect on myself and used my experience and methods to discuss with them. I always put myself in others' shoes so that to solve the problems effectively.What's more, I have the flexibility in both language and culture to operate successfully in many different contexts.
