I also taught English at summer camps for kids in Germany and Spain, some of the most rewarding experiences I've had while teaching.I earned an Associate degree in Liberal Arts and Humanities at Morrisville State College in New York, specializing in literature, creative writing and public speaking. With a Bachelor's in Professional Health Studies and Master's in Oriental Medicine at Florida College of Integrative Medicine, I've expanded my love of educating to the fields of personal health, meditation, nutrition and more. Other loves involve slam poetry, jazz, beatbox, blues and Latin music, engineering, drawing and on-stage performance.It doesn't matter what age you are, with the smallest spark of incentive you can learn anything. I have Master's and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Sciences, and I have spent the bulk of my adult life working with computers first as a programmer and systems analyst, and then as an instructor of Computer Sciences, Informatics and Information Technology classes. I worked with some of the first professional desktop computers that came out, and computers still interest me in a way that nothing else really does!Although my teaching experience includes many Software Engineering classes, I am still happiest when I am teaching programming classes Visual Basic, Python, C++, HTML, JavaScript and PHP. I love being there when students discover the thrill of making something work on the computer! I also love teaching Introduction to Computing and the History of Computing to beginners, mostly because I found these things so interesting when I was new to the topic.My teaching philosophy is a simple one: I believe that there is always a way to have some fun with learning!

I have approximately 10 years of classroom and teaching experience in addition to tutoring experience. I am certified by the state of Florida to teach Social Studies 6 - 12 and English 6 -12. I have taught just about every class and grade during my tenure as a teacher [including American History, World History, Civics, AP World History, among others.]I believe Social Studies is essential for helping to develop Critical Thinking skills as well as honing and sharpening various other skills that can make for a better student.
