I am a graduate student who will start their PhD from University of Maryland in Applied Mathematics this fall. I completed my MSc in Applied Mathematics from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich in Switzerland. I did my Bachelor in Science, majoring in Mathematics, from Lahore University of Management Science in Pakistan.Teaching is something that I am truly passionate about and I have had many opportunities as a teacher. I was a teaching assistant for two undergraduate courses: Number Theory and Discrete Mathematics. My duties involved giving weekly tutorials and designing and evaluating homework and quizzes. I have also taught underprivileged high school students as part of an NGO. I taught math, computer science and english speaking skills. This is why Mathematics is my favourite subject to tutor. I am also comfortable tutoring for standardised tests such as the GRE and SAT.My goal is not merely to teach facts and formulas but rather to help the student develop the intuition behind them. I value critical thinking and problem solving skills and that is what I would like to teach my students as well. These are skills that are highly valued today even outside the classroom.

I am a graduate of Park University, where I received a Biology degree with a minor in Chemistry. I have since gone back to school and am currently studying applied physics at the University of Kansas, where I am also a teaching assistant in the physics department. I have been involved in tutoring since my high school days, where I received the International Baccalaureate Diploma from North Kansas City High School. Tutoring was an important component of the community service aspect of the diploma, and I was able to work with students in the areas of Algebra 1, Geometry, and Biology. In college, I was also involved in tutoring, working with students in a range of subjects from College Algebra to Calculus in math, and all sorts of science courses, including Genetics, Physics, and Molecular Cell Biology. I tutor a wide range of math and science classes, but my favorites are Algebra, Calculus, and Physics. When working with a student, I have found that showing the student that you are excited and interested in the subject, as well as connecting it to a real world situation or profession makes the atmosphere fun and relaxed. Under those circumstances, learning is easier and the knowledge is more effectively retained. I believe that a strong math and science education lays the foundation for success in any field, as skills such as critical thinking can be broadly applied to all career paths. In my free time, I am an avid concert goer, Sporting Kansas City supporter, reader, and long distance runner.

Hi There! My name is Cody F. and I love tutoring, especially in math and science. I graduated from The Gatton Academy of Math and Science at Western Kentucky University, named the number one public high school in the nation by Newsweek. While there I took extensive college coursework in math, physics, chemistry, biology, and the humanities while also completing my high school education. After graduating I began my undergraduate education at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, Massachusetts, recently ranked by US News as the number one university in the country. At MIT I am pursuing a degree in mathematics.During this time I have acquired great experience in tutoring and teaching. I have a total of 8 years of experience tutoring mathematics, particularly calculus. I also have 5 years of experience tutoring in the sciences, such as biology, chemistry, and physics. My experience has come in the form of private, one-on-one tutoring with students ranging in ages from 7th grade through adult learners, college-level review courses, and even teaching SAT prep courses. My students find me very relatable, and I've heard from several students that having someone close to their own age work with them has been really beneficial to their learning. I look forward to working with you in the future! Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions you might have!

I am really excited to be given the opportunity to tutor students. It was my first exposure to education (from the educators side) back when I was in college, working with students at a local high school. First with them, and also my friends, I noticed that I really enjoyed helping people understand something they were struggling with. Thats why I hope to tutor as many students as I can handle. The thing I enjoy most about teaching is the opportunity to help students learn. I enjoy knowledge, both the receiving and the giving thereof, and Im looking forward to being able to help your student (or you yourself) grow in the field you are currently grappling with. I have been fortunate to do well in my own academic pursuits: earning a Bachelor's in International Affairs & History from Georegetown University and a Master's in Education from Valparaiso University. I have taught for four years in a few different departments, but mostly in the social studies. I offer tutoring in the social studies, mathematics, and Spanish as well as test prep for the SAT & GRE, both of which I have taken. I hope that we can move you forward in your academic endeavors. Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, video games and aikido.

After graduating high school as valedictorian, I studied Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University. I chose engineering because of my love of math & science subjects that came naturally to me. During my junior year, a professor I worked with strongly suggested I pursue grad school, telling me he thought it would be a good fit. So after graduation, I attended the Georgia Institute of Technology to earn a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. I took advantage of Georgia Tech's study abroad program living and learning in eastern France, where I became fluent in the French language.Upon earning my degree, I was hired by Fortune Global 500 company in the Energy Sector where I held various technical positions worldwide in countries like Kazakhstan, Turkey, Scotland and France before coming back to the US in 2011.I tutor math and science, with a focus on more advanced subjects such as Geometry, Trigonometry, Algebra, Calculus and Physics. These are the subjects I enjoy most because they allow us to model and understand the world we live in.I have benefited from tutoring in the past, and I believe a mentor can help fill the gaps in a student's education. I do this by explaining concepts and ideas in ways that are easier to understand and relate to. Education is extremely important for success in life. Several members of my family have lifted themselves into success and happiness through education.I enjoy staying active by playing sports and partaking in the great outdoors. Travel is a passion of mine, whether exploring a new continent or something around the corner. Scuba diving is a recent hobby I've added. It's an incredible feeling to dive on an underwater wreck site!I look forward to working with you and achieving amazing results!

I graduated from the University of Miami with a BS in Physics. While in high school, I attended math competitions across the country including one at Princeton University and another at New York University. My love for mathematics eventually led to virtual tutoring through Florida Virtual School where I tutored over 150 hours in Pre-Calculus, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, and Chemistry. I love to teach because it lets me share my enthusiasm for mathematics and science with other students and helps me get a deeper understanding of material that is useful for my higher level mathematics and physics courses. As a tutor, I break down complicated problems into manageable concepts so students can gain confidence in solving these problems on their own.
