I am a special education teacher who has worked with elementary special education students for five years. While my focus has primary been in literacy I have experience in math instruction up to sixth grade. When working with students I prefer to teach using a variety of approaches. I will often supplement worksheet/homework practice along with visuals and manipulatives because I believe this helps students learn better. When tutoring math I will often bring my iPad and start the session with digital flashcards etc. because students should have a through memorization of fundamental skills such as time tables.In addition to my experience in special education I have also worked as an ESL and ELA teacher for multiple years, working with students up to 8th grade. My ESL experience has been both inside and outside the classroom, working with students of all abilities, ranging from beginner to test prep for the TESOL.
