Teaching and tutoring has been an important part of my life for many years now. Since high school, I have volunteered to teach a wide range of subjects to students of all ages. In doing so, I've learned to step into the shoes of my students in order to help them master their material. I've also been able to step outside my own comfort zone, performing in a rock band and joining a salsa dance club. I'm positive that I can use my knowledge and experiences to help students excel!

I am a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and I have over 8 years of tutoring/teaching experience. I've taught a wide range of students from Pre-K through college-age both in the U.S. and abroad. I started my teaching career as a tutor at the Notre Dame Writing Center. Since then, I especially love helping students write their college application essays. I've even helped students with their essays for graduate school. Apart from that, my favorite subjects to tutor include Spanish, German, and Math. I'm very passionate about languages because I grew up trilingual (my mother is German and my father is Mexican). I love helping students achieve their goals and encouraging them along the way with a lot of positive feedback. I look forward to learning with you!

Some of the most effective ways to learn science, math, and Spanish are from people who use these subjects every day: for example, a Spanish speaking scientist. My teaching style is very different to that of a typical classroom because I use concepts from science and math every day and understand how they are most easily applied and explained. I try however possible to enrich the learning students gain in the classroom with practical applications for the scientific world. My teaching of Spanish can also best be described as intuitive, as I am a native speaker and can think of ways to explain concepts in Spanish that are not described in textbooks or workbooks. My practical applications to somewhat abstract subjects leave students with a solid conceptual foundation upon which their further study of science, math, or Spanish can flourish.
