I have taught high school and college level course for over a decade. I believe that there are common themes that students posses that can impede their learning. A key element is self confidence in their ability to learn. I believe in building up a student's confidence as they learn a subject so they can retain the information and can apply it in real world scenarios.

I am a University of Iowa graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing. While at UI, I tutored fellow students in Writing and developed a passion for helping others to channel their strengths in areas where they may not yet excel. I have also worked heavily with ELL students on both academic and cultural understanding, and continue to enjoy working with students of all backgrounds, ethnicities, and ages. Every student learns differently, and as a tutor, I create a positive, comfortable learning environment and address students' needs based on their personalities and individual learning styles. Within the next couple of years, I am planning to pursue a masters or doctorate degree in Anthropology with a focus on Social Institutions. I look forward to working with you!

My objective as an educator is to help my students think critically and to push them to achieve their best. I know that dental hygiene school is not easy so having someone to help guide you when it comes to the national exam can be very helpful. I graduated DH school from College of DuPage and received my BA in Healthcare Management from Concordia University Chicago. I am currently enrolled in the MPH program at SIUC. I tutor students on all dental hygiene courses that are on the NBDHE. I taught dental hygiene full-time for over 2 years and I currently work at two hygiene programs teaching didactic and clinical courses. Classes I have taught include: Community Dental Health, Dental Anatomy & Morphology,Preventive Dentistry, Nutrition, Perio I & II, and Histology & Embryology. In the fall I will be teaching Head & Neck Anatomy and Perio I. I have over 7 years of experience as a certified pharmacy technician and I love Pharmacology. The previous college I worked for had a Board Review Class in the last term and I would do the review on most of the courses including Pharmacology. I love all dental hygiene topics but my top two would have to be Community and Pharmacology.

I am a recent graduate of Princeton University's Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department. I am passionate about teaching and mentoring and have done so in multiple capacities over the last four years, including a fellowship during which I taught pre-algebraic math to a group of middle school students from traditionally underserved backgrounds in Saint Paul, MN. I love interacting with students and seeing them grow over the course of their studies. I'm ecstatic at the opportunity to learn alongside them as we venture into educational rabbit holes and uncover key concepts about math, science, and everything else.

I am a junior at UChicago majoring in Computer Science and Economics. I have tutored since high school, specializing in Calculus, Chemistry, Computer Science, and test prep for SAT and ACT. I enjoy helping students succeed in school and receive a quality education. I think it is important that students can see their hard work reflected in their grades and scores. Some hobbies of mine are powerlifting, hiking, sports, and cooking.

I grew up in Virginia, where I completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma program in 2009. In 2013, I graduated from Barnard College with a degree in Political Science and Human Rights Studies. During college, I worked for the Junior Statesmen Summer School at Stanford University, where I helped students studying government, debate, international relations, and other topics. As a tutor, I believe there are no stupid questions, and that with enough hard work any student can succeed. In my free time, I'm an amateur photographer and an alumnae admissions interviewer for Barnard.

I am very passionate about helping students become the best they can be. I am not here to give all the answers, but rather to help students reach the answers themselves. My end goal is not to help students through one class, or one assignment, but to help them develop the tools they will use for the rest of their academic careers, and hopefully, the rest of their lives.

I am a happy English Teacher. I learned to teach while serving in the Peace Corps in Poland. I have 15 years of teaching experience and 6 years of experience tutoring students of all ages. I am especially good at elementary school Language Arts and Math. I have a Ph.D. in Education from DePaul University in Chicago and love to work with all kinds of students from everywhere. My BA is from the University of Illinois in Champaign/Urbana, Phi Beta Kappa, and my MA is in Public Policy from the George Washington University in Washington DC. I have taught here in the US for many years and also overseas. I would love to meet you!My doctoral work is in Gifted Education, so if your student is particularly good in certain subjects I may be the teacher for you. I taught Gifted Enrichment at the high school level for 5 years and assisted in a curriculum redesign. I have also taught gifted elementary students.
