I am currently a senior at Vanderbilt University studying Mechanical Engineering with minors in both Mathematics and Financial Economics. I am an active leader of my sorority and outside of school I enjoy spending time with my friends, enjoying the outdoors, and soaking up everything Nashville has to offer before I graduate in May! After graduation, I will be moving to Washington D.C. to do technology consulting for Deloitte in their Federal practice. I am originally from the San Francisco Bay Area and love to travel to see other parts of the US and the world!

I'm Karen, a sophomore in Vanderbilt's Peabody College of Education. I am double majoring in Secondary Education (middle and high school education) and European History with additional endorsements in US History and Political Science.

I am a student at Vanderbilt University, majoring in Neuroscience while on the pre-med track. In the future, I hope to become a pediatrician. I have experience with and tutor in a wide range of subjects, and am most passionate about helping students with standardized exams. I know from personal experience that any exam score can be improved with studying and practice, no matter how frustrating or impossible it may seem. I like growing as a person, but I find it much more interesting and rewarding to grow other people. Seeing a student change, not in intellect but in perspective, is fascinating. I like to focus more on concepts rather than memorization so that students will have the tools to excel in any facet of academia, beyond some random test that holds too much significance.

While in high school, I also volunteered for Higher Achievement, an Academic Enrichment program for middle school youth in D.C. During the summer session,I taught the SSAT and reading classes, acted as a teachers' assistant and tutored individual scholars. I am very passionate about STEM and advancements in the tech field. I strongly value education, something my parents instilled in me from a young age, and I hope to spread my love of learning and the doors that a strong education can open to those around me. I love all things sports and fitness and my favorite activities are biking, running and yoga.
