I am an undergraduate student at UNLV. I major in English with a minor in Japanese and I am in the honors college.I serve as the editor of the opinion section of The Rebel Yell, UNLV's student newspaper. In the past I have tutored Spanish and Japanese language students, but I am actually most passionate about English and reading and would love more experience working with students to enfranchise them with the power of literacy. I derive happiness from seeing others grow and contributing to the lifelong process of education, so I find tutoring to be an appropriate outlet for this passion. In my free time, I enjoy reading short stories and writing my own prose.

My choice of study was Communications, which involved writing and photography.My interests moved to Aviation in which I earned a Private, Commercial, Multi Engine and Airline Transport Pilots Licenses.I also earned Ground Instructor and Instrument Instructor certificates.I began teaching the classroom knowledge for attaining a pilots license I also taught the flight portion.My latest teaching experience has been as a Guest Teacher for the Clark Co School District.K-6th grade.It is a wonderful experience to see a person light up with new knowledge.My teaching style is to evaluate the students interests and knowledge of the subject and approach from a common ground.My hobbies include flying, photography, gardening and repairing furniture.

Since then, I've directed many school and community theater productions. As an English teacher, I've developed a passion for helping students at every level of learning. I am most passionate about teaching writing! I am currently an instructor for my men's organization at church as well as a Cub Scout den leader. This is my dead semester so I will be much more available to tutor than I was able to last semester. I have taught middle through high school students as well as tutored for preparations on professional exams (CPA & CMA).
