I've tutored students through the America Reads/America Counts program in college and as an independent tutor in subjects including essay writing, SAT prep, elementary math, phonics, and English as a second language. I currently am a medical student pursuing my MD in NYC. I graduated from Haverford College with a Bachelor's of Science in Molecular Biology and a minor in Spanish Literature. Since high school, I have tutored various subjects including biology, math, Spanish, and English. In college, I was accepted into the Mentoring and Student Teaching Program for underserved children in Philadelphia. I served as a science and english tutor for three years, while tutoring my peers in Spanish and Biology as well. Having taken the MCAT and excelled on the SAT, ACT, as well as multiple SAT subject tests, I am have extensive standardized testing experience and am confident in my ability to help others in their academic studies. When not studying or doing research, I enjoy running, cooking, and exploring new venues with friends.

My favorite quote is from one of my favorite children's book, Anne of Green Gables. "Tomorrow is fresh with no mistakes in it." Every day as teachers we have the chance to enhance the lives of our students. They may not have gotten a concept one day- but suddenly, you can see the light bulb go off, and there is no better feeling. I currently teach 3rd grade at a school in Cleveland. My favorite unit in reading is an author study on Mo Willems( the author of Don't Let The Pigeon Drive The Bus!) We are getting ready for our unit end puppet show. Math is fun when we do our fraction unit! Cutting pizza and candy bars into halves/thirds or whatever and then getting to eat it! My favorite subject to teach is writing!When I am not teaching, I am the day camp director for a country club in our area. We spend our days golfing, swimming, having martial arts, and my personal favorite, Iron Chef.I am so excited to be working with you!

I have been teaching for 7 years. I have taught everything from Pre-K to college. I am a certified teacher in math 5-9, K-6, Reading, ESOL, and ESE. I teach a learning strategies class on a regular basis but I enjoy working with students of all ages. I focused on basic reading skills and phonics in my master's program. However, I am a math and science person at heart!I enjoying teaching people how to learn and helping them find out the way that they learn best. I focus a lot on strategies to help the students learn to be self-sufficient. I think organization and time management is very important. I provide step by step instruction and help the student learn how to break down problems to better tackle it and find the solution. I believe it is important to understand everyone learns differently and I enjoy helping others find the way that they learn best and learn how to use it to be successful.

I graduated from Princeton University in 2015 with a BSE in Chemical and Biological Engineering and a certificate in German Language and Culture. I am currently working towards my MD/PhD degree at Michigan Medical School.I have experience tutoring students of all ages, ranging from 1st grade to graduate school.
