I am a graduate of Rutgers University, double-majoring in History and Political Science and minoring in Art History. As an undergraduate student at Rutgers, I completed Education courses and also had the privilege of conducting field research at local elementary schools for the Early Childhood Literacy Development program. After college, I received my Juris Doctor from Seton Hall Univ. School of Law and have studied law in Italy at the Universities of Milan, Parma and Genova-Nervi. Shortly after graduating from law school and becoming a practicing attorney, I started my own solo practice. I enjoy teaching History, Law and Government, and the Tagalog(Filipino) language. Having a solo practice allows me to have a flexible schedule and teach on my free time, which not only is my true passion but it also allows me to give back to the community and interact with people.

I have a passion for teaching, ever since helping my friends out with academics in high school, and I have experience tutoring or teaching calculus, physics, chemistry, and epidemiology. My college coursework includes multivariable calculus, differential equations, organic chemistry, physics, and linear algebra. In addition, I've worked extensively with high school mentorship programs in the Boston area. I want to do my part to make sure students have the support they need to succeed academically and find their own passion.

I just completed my undergraduate degree in mathematics at Cornell University, with a minor in computer science. I will be pursuing a Master of Science in computer science at Cornell for the next two years. Teaching has always been a passion of mine, as has mathematics - and I am always eager to share this excitement with others.

I have been a tutor for many years. I have my Bachelors in Mathematics, my Masters in Math Secondary Education, and teach at a local urban high school. I love teaching, especially math and SAT Prep. I feel like those subjects cause the most anxiety, and my job is to undo the stigma of difficulty surrounding these subjects, and help students embrace their potential. I tutor elementary, middle and high school math and English, and elementary and middle school science. I also tutor SAT Prep, including study skills and tips and tricks for students with ADD/ADHD and anxiety and depression. My children have taught me a new level of patience, and I think my tutoring reflects that. My teaching philosophy is simple: find out who your student is, and teach them. Just them. They are the most important person in the room, focus on just what they need. Outside of teaching, I love leading crafting classes at my local libraries, knitting, reading, TV, movies, exploring new foods and places, and dogs. My favorite things to do include walking my dog, read, or create art with stained glass or knitting.

Most of the classes I taught were for beginning students or computer classes.In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and his 2 kids. They are 10 and 12 years old. My husband is currently in the military and this is the 2nd state I have lived in. I like working out by running or going to the gym to lift weights. I typically tutor Chemistry, English, and Math, along with Biology and Psychology occasionally.My favorite subject to tutor is Chemistry, because it is a basic science that can be built on in many different ways. Chemistry influences our everyday lives in ways that we do not often recognize, and I find it exciting to show others how some of the most amazing natural phenomena are rooted in basic chemistry concepts.I believe that the most important part of teaching is a malleable understanding of the material. It is not only important to learn one concept, but to be able to think about it in different ways and build off from there.Outside academia, I love to draw, sing, and learn new songs on guitar.
