In my previous corporate job I learned how to train staff accountants both here in the States and in India. Since I have been home with my (almost 3) little girl for a couple years I want to take that experience to help others who may be struggling with accounting concepts (debits/credits can be confusing in the beginning!).I enjoy being outside on a cool, sunny day and helping others where I can through volunteer work or helping families maintain good health. When not working, I spend each moment I can bonding with my family.

My goal is for you to grow in your educational journey. I am called to help you grow spiritually, theologically, and academically. I would like to see you become a practitioner and make an impact in the community in which you live. I have an associate's, Bachelor's, and Master's degrees, and I currently working on finishing my Doctorate degree. I look forward to working and seeing you grow.

I have been a nurse for 9 years and a Family Nurse Practitioner for almost 5 years. In Texas, I received my BSN in 2014. At Samuel Merritt University in Oakland, California, I received my MSN as a FNP in 2018. With the experience I've gained throughout the years I am confident in tutoring both nursing and advanced nursing subjects as well a certification exams (NCLEX, CMSRN, ANCC FNP).In teaching or tutoring, I like to work closely alongside the student and ensure understanding before moving on to something new. I, myself, am a hands-on learner and enjoy finding fun ways to learn. Giving back to others in my work is exciting, but being able to help others through education is a genuine passion and I can't wait to help you succeed!

I am a multi-award winning journalist who is a retired journalism professor at Columbia University. I have trained, mentored or edited hundreds of journalists and writers working today.I graduated from Amherst College with a degree with high honors in history and an ambition to become a great writer. I had studied under two great writers, Chinua Achebe and Sonia Sanchez, and after college I set out to learn writing by becoming a news reporter, like my literary heroes Mark Twain and Ralph Ellison.I spent 35 years as a newspaper reporter and editor, covering everything from the second Iraq war to what makes men sexy. I've met presidents and other officials and traveled to more than 20 countries as a journalist, ,most notably India, Jamaica, China, and Germany.After leaving the news business I taught writing, editing and reporting Columbia University and other schools. I have written and/or edited literally millions of words. I have spent my life writing and teaching people to write.My teaching demeanor is to challenge while encourage, to enlighten while building confidence. I believe in learning by experience, by trial and error and by constant re-evaluation. To coax out inner skills and talents, a teacher must be kind and patient.I left a life of deadlines and pressure in New York City to retire to write, but now I miss the interactions and kinetic energy I had in classrooms and newsrooms with bright young people who are eager to improve. I chose to enter this program because I want to continue to make the world better.I still advise high school journalism students and teachers in NYC.I write daily.

I am a student on break from studying at the University of Oklahoma, majoring in History and minoring in English Writing. I have had a short story and a poem published, and I am currently writing children's books.

I'm a recent graduate with a Bachelor in Medical Molecular Biology. Currently taking a gap year before graduate school, and enjoy tutoring on the side. I tutored, TA'd, and mentored while in college and am grateful to continue that during my gap year!
