Hey there! I am a recent graduate from the University of Georgia! I got both my undergrad and masters degree in accounting from the University of Georgia. I am extremely passionate about helping others and seeing others succeed. My most recent tutoring experiences have been with college accounting students, but not too long ago, I worked with kids from kindergarten to seniors in high school in various math classes, specifically basic math and algebra. I would love to be a tutor as well as a personal mentor for students maneuvering through the demands in and out of the classroom! I believe it is important to build relationships and have a deep understanding of a student's learning style to see the best results.

I graduated Cum Laude from the University of Notre Dame with a BA in the Program of Liberal Studies. After graduation, I worked as a teacher at a high adventure outdoor boarding school, where I taught middle school social studies, english, and math. I also worked for the Institute of Reading Development, teaching reading classes to students of all ages. I recently graduated from the University of Alabama with a Masters in Library and Information Studies. My writing has been published in peer reviewed academic journals.

Prior to going into law, I was a biology major and worked at a dental surgeon's office for four years. I am passionate about teaching others and helping them learn.

In grade school, math came easy to me and became my favorite subject. Because I was a good math student, I decided to major in engineering at Virginia Commonwealth University to make some use of this skill. During my freshman year, I was asked to be a math tutor for a local high school. It became clear after only a few hours that several of the struggling students did not have the solid foundation in math that would allow them to be successful in their current and future math courses. It saddened me and made me wonder about the state of education, especially in urban areas. I wanted to find more ways to help.This tutoring experience made me aware of my ability and desire to teach, and my talent for simplifying material in order to help students learn. Ultimately, it also inspired me to pursue a teaching career in an inner-city environment. This new knowledge motivated me to continue to pursue other tutoring opportunities. My calling was in education, so I decided to change my major to math with a concentration in education.I, just like Varsity Tutors, am passionate about educating students to be successful. I realized that the students I tutored succeeded because I was passionate about the subject, and about helping them understand the material. My educational philosophy has changed and has been impacted by each of my experiences. I appreciate the education I received, growing up in the city of Richmond, and ultimately want to give back to the community that gave me so much. I recently graduated from NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering with a bachelors of science in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. During my time as an undergraduate student I volunteered for Women for Afghan Women, an organization designed to foster a nurturing environment to underprivileged women and children. I had the privilege of tutoring and mentoring these bright children who often come from troubled families. My work entailed not only helping them with school work but also helping them cope with the situation they're in. I also had the opportunity to tutor for the Polytechnic Tutoring Center, which provides walk-in group tutoring for students attending the University. I tutored General Chemistry for Engineers, General Chemistry 1 &2, and Physical Chemistry. I learned to tailor my efforts towards each individual student and see which method best suited them. I firmly believe that each student has the ability to excel in whatever they wish as long as they believe in themselves, a value I hope to instill in all my students. I am patient, passionate, and excited about meeting new people and learning how they hope to make a difference in this world. In my spare time I love to watch and play sports, in particular Football. I helped my college friends with their Mandarin Projects for competitions and also taught a young boy Mandarin Chinese for one semester. I researched materials and developed detailed lesson plans; interfaced with parents regarding goals, teaching methods and development of homework plans; developed a strong relationship with students, utilizing a variety of classroom activities. I also tutored Algebra at for a non-profit educational center. I not only helped students with their homework, but I also helped struggling students prepare for exams. I believe education is a very important part of improving quality of life. I am very enthusiastic, positive, and responsible, and most importantly, I love people.
