Hi! My name is Pearl Sutter and I am a MD & PhD student at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. I graduated from Drew University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience and Biochemistry.I realized that I have a passion for teaching when I taught basic Hebrew to children in kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade. I quickly understood that each student learns differently, and began to incorporate different learning approaches into my teaching style. I enjoyed this challenge and continue to utilize this approach with all future tutoring.During undergrad I earned by CRLA tutoring certification and tutored in many subjects including neuroscience, biology, scientific writing, essay writing. I also tutored foreign students in English, and lead clinics where I taught fencing to middle and high school students.I am passionate about teaching and helping everyone get an excellent education. In my spare time, I enjoy running, reading, fencing, and spending time with family and friends.I am more than happy to answer any additional questions! I look forward to tutoring you or your student!

My name is Hyerin. I graduated in May 2016 from Case Western Reserve University with a BA in Economics (minor in Russian) and a MA in Bioethics. I am currently in my second year of medical school. Because of my diverse academic background, I am able to tutor in a wide range of topics, from Economics and math to Russian and ACT prep.I have prior experience tutoring as a peer tutor while at Case Western. I was available as a tutor for several economics courses, as well as Human Anatomy and Human Physiology. However, I was predominantly used as a macroeconomics and econometrics tutor.I am currently working as a Peer Leader in my medical school, holding review sessions for the first year students.I choose to tutor because I appreciate all that my education has given me and want to share what I have learned with others who may need help. I was given help from TAs, professors, and close friends while I made my way through school.

I was the student instructor on record for the fall 2021 and spring 2022 semesters. I have created lessons, practice PowerPoints, and tests for elementary biostatistics. In both my academic and professional life, I have been consistently praised as diligent and focused by my professors and peers. I have spent most of the last 20 years teaching and training others both in the classroom and on-the-job. I have a B.S. in Chemistry and Biology as well as an M.A. in Biology. I have taught college-level courses in Introductory Biology, Microbiology, and Anatomy and Physiology. Though, I also teach non-majors, most of my students are planning careers in health care fields such as nursing and respiratory therapy. I also have experience teaching HS level Biology and Integrated Chemistry and Physics as well as math remediation courses for those not prepared for Algebra. I have worked with students of all ages, but I have a particular passion for teaching and working with adults. I particularly enjoy helping adult students overcome their fear of math and science.

Science has always been a passion of mine, especially with regards to Biology. It's what drove me to pursue a degree in Biology, and eventually Medicine. Writing has also been a passion of mine. I love to write poetry, fiction, and expository essays. As I have had to write for coursework, college admissions, and medical school admissions, critiquing and correcting papers is something I feel very comfortable with.I like to utilize my creativity in ways that have meaning. As someone who has been through a lot of schooling, I know how difficult it can be to grasp certain topics, so it takes a creative approach. I have always been a proponent of hands-on and visual learning. But I also recognize that each student has their own special way of learning--some may like visual, some may like auditory, some may like movement.I have experience teaching high school science and informally tutoring peers in Biology when I was in college. Teaching high school, I worked with lots of kids who had ADD/ADHD or were on the autism spectrum. It was rewarding to see all my students, regardless of their learning abilities or background, finally understand a difficult or challenging concept. Should you choose me to be your tutor, I look forward to bringing that same feeling to you!

I'm currently an undergrad at Lewis and Clark College and am looking to serve others so that they can have access to the same opportunities I do. Since middle school I've pushed myself towards academic excellence, joining the National Honor Society in high school and receiving a Letter of Commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Program. I finished high school as an AP Scholar with Distinction, an award given by CollegeBoard. I believe that education is at the heart of the American Dream is crucial for our democracy and the betterment of the world at large.

I was brought up in Vancouver, Canada. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Cell & Molecular Biology from Simon Fraser University and a Master of Science in Pathology & Laboratory Medicine from the University of British Columbia. After working in research labs in Canada and the United States, I was inspired to pursue Medicine. Recently, I completed a 2 year Post-Baccalaureate program at the University of Texas at Dallas, as a pre-requisite for entry into medical school.Throughout my undergraduate and graduate education, I have had the privilege of tutoring students of various grade levels. My tutoring strength lies in being able to adjust my tutoring style to a student's learning style. Some students may require written notes, while others may prefer conceptual teaching. Certain students require additional homework and assignments while others might be self-motivated. As someone who has tutored for about 3 years, I am proficient in teaching Math and Science to elementary, high school, and college students.
