I am graduate of NYU with a BA in Politics and Creative Writing. I am a part time poet with works published both in online and print magazines, as well as a full time recruiter in the fields of Finance and Business Strategy. I have a large range of tutoring and teaching experience in subjects ranging from Calculus, English, Economics, Test Prep, and Writing. I also have classroom experience as a substitute teacher at St. Ann's School in Brooklyn, and experience teaching children from ages 4 to 18 as a coach for a recreational swim team. My favorite subjects to teach are writing, poetry and other English language fields. Outside of academics and poetry my interests in include comedy, art, sports, and competitive swimming.

Some of my life achievements include, being an all county 1st singles player on my high school tennis team, improving my max bench press by 35lbs in 3 months, running a marathon, climbing a mountain, clearing a 40 feet long ski jump, ranking in the top 10 players in upstate NY in a video game, getting a job in my field immediately after college, being chosen to lead a project at work even though I am one of the newest people there, completing 3 college degrees in 5 years with a high GPA, working at least part time every year since I was in 10th grade, and ranking 1st every week in location accuracy and pulls per week as a backroom team member at Target. I am currently independently learning coding through codecademy.com and freecodecamp.com and am in the process of creating my own website.These things all resulted from the common theme of focused effort and a clear mindset for improvement. Improvement happens when you try to do something, fail, figure out what you're doing wrong, and try to fix it. Everyone can improve at everything if they stay focused, adapt their improvement methods, and try again. It's never too late. Some things take more time than others, but everything is achievable. If you have an idea of what you want to accomplish in the future, start now and you'll be much more likely to get to where you want to be.

I am passionate about this service because I was always a strong student but I struggled when I switched majors and I wish to give back the same time and help that was given to me. I was previously a calculus Learning assistant and Algebra tutor for about a year while going to school. I have an Associate degree in accounting and Finance and currently I am a senior pursuing a BS in Computer Science (concentration in Artificial Intelligence). I am a very methodical and process oriented goal driven person and that has lead to my fondness of math and hard sciences. I impart learning through involvement, experiences and real life relations. Outside of school I travel a lot, play soccer and generally hang out with my family, I have a wife and daughter so that quality time is important.

I am currently an upper elementary teacher through Teach For America, and I've passed all of my elementary certification exams, while working on finishing my teacher license this academic year from calumet college, St. Joseph. My undergraduate degree is in Economics from the University of Chicago, and I did a lot of statistics, too!I like having kids how to read, write, and do math. Because I loved doing those in school, and I'll be teaching that this up coming school year. To have a struggling reader all of a sudden love reading and attack hard words never before tried is the best feeling in the world.I believe education should be fun, loving, inviting, challenging, and organized.

I was a member of the Division I Track & Field team and qualified for All-Patriot League Academic Team, Dean's List and Dobro Slovo (Russian Honor Society). While I truly enjoyed my time studying the Russian Language, my true passion lies in Finance and Economics.I currently am a full time financial professional working for The Vanguard Group in Charlotte, North Carolina. I love analyzing economic data and using that data in every day conversations and to shape my decisions. When it comes to tutoring I have a very similar approach. I will analyze where the problem areas are, or where a student may be struggling, and use that information to in turn teach and educate the student. Every student learns differently and it's important to identify how that student learns so I can best utilize my tools to teach as effectively as I can.
