I am a graduate of Cornell University, and I received my Bachelor of Sciences in Human Development with a minor in theater. I am currently a Kindergarten teacher through Teach for America in New York City, and working towards a Masters in the Art of Teaching. Throughout college, I had various tutoring and classroom experience, including tutoring 3rd and 8th graders in English, as well as volunteering in Pre-K through 3rd grade classrooms. I also tutored college students in Introductory Psychology. I have experience with students with special needs, including ADHD and Autism. I aspire to become a medical care professional and work in disadvantaged and underserved communities. I believe that if an individual is ready to put in hard work and determination nothing can stop them from achieving their goals. As a tutor I aspire to motivate my students to see a difficult concept or problem not as an obstacle but as a goal that can be conquered. I strive to not only help my students understand material but to also build their self-esteem and self-confidence.

As a future educator I am committed to creating individualized and meaningful teaching experiences for each of my students. I am a recent graduate from the University of Maryland and am working in the interim between no and when my graduate program starts in the fall. I plan to be a high school art teacher as I find that art lends itself to the more difficult subjects to breach including social issues. My ambition though is to prepare students for college and/or University through writing/english. I hold two graduate degrees, one in Humanities and the other in Visual Arts. I'm working towards becoming an Art History Professor for a College or University. It's never too late to do what you love! I love writing about art and inspiring others! In my Visual Arts degree I concentrated in Photography and I'm more than happy to teach you the basics and help you create an online portfolio. My main emphasis with Tutoring is English as it is an important part of everyday life. You need writing to even apply for a job and express yourself confidently. I began my teaching career as an Adjunct Professor of English at SUNY at Fashion Institute of Technology and Baruch College. Over the past ten years, I have tutored English, English literature, writing, essay writing, history, classics and study skills and the standardized tests associated with those subjects. I enjoy the teaching process and helping students progress and develop their skills and knowledge. What I especially appreciate about tutoring is it allows me to work closely with a student; assess their individual needs and interests; and see practical, positive results that can have a direct impact on the future of their academic career. I have recently moved to Seattle and; I am currently pursuing a certificate course in clinical trials at the University of Washington.
