I am pursuing dual Master's degrees from the University of Texas in Public Health and Social Work. As a born-and-raised Austinite, my interests include practicing yoga, sampling local food trailers, attending live concerts, and – perhaps most of all – cheering on my beloved Texas Longhorns in football.

I'm a graduate of Shiraz University, and I grew up in Shiraz, Iran. I came to the USA in 2009 and I am trying to transfer to dental school. While I tutor a variety of subjects, math is easily my favorite. I love basic math, algebra, calculus and everything in between, and it shows in my work. My mom was a teacher, and she helped me to pick up my first problem solving position in high school. Since then, I've worked with students from ninth grade to adults returning to the classroom, students struggling to pass to students wanting to attend (or get into!) a special high school or college. I am a math and science tutor at Austin Community College as well as a DAT (Dental Admission Test) instructor for Kaplan Test Preparation. Most students come to me for math, but I've also worked with standardized test preparation, chemistry, biology, physics, statistics, and time management. Math and science classes are really just elaborate puzzles to solve, and most of my students learn to enjoy the process of figuring out what to do once I help them develop the confidence and skill set they need to be successful. Not everyone loves science courses, especially math but I do, and it's contagious. In my free time, I like to explore Austin with my friends: from coffee shops to parks to museums. This is a really fun city! I also enjoy listening to all kinds of music, swimming and reading a good book.

I am a recent graduate of Cornell University, where I acquired a B.S. and M.Eng in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a minor in Computer Science. I've enjoyed assisting in education for as long as I can remember (cheesy, I know); I loved being a little "teacher's assistant" at my grandmother's preschool in Guatemala as a child. I tutored my peers a little bit in high school. While at university, I was a teaching assistant for Intro Digital Logic for 6 semesters, where I was energized by guiding students to the a-ha moments that led me to pursue a career in computer architecture.

I am a graduate of Hamilton College in Clinton, New York, where I received my Bachelor of Arts in anthropology and English Literature in 2014. Since graduation, I have served one year as a K-2 literacy tutor with A Community for Education, and this past year I worked as a kindergarten teacher at IDEA Public Schools. I will be beginning a Masters Program in Education this fall at the University of Texas at Austin with a certification in teaching 7-12th English. My goal as a professional is to unite my love of literature with my passion for social justice to become an inspirational and effective educator of underserved preteen and teenage students. My tutoring style is very positive and encouraging, and centered around teaching my students in a way that makes sense to them. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, running, travel, and cooking. Hobbies: running, hiking, art, travel, books, writing, yoga, reading, cooking, music

I am a fourth year undergraduate student at The University of Texas at Austin pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering Honors with minors in Computer Science and Business. I have always been passionate about helping others by continuing the chain of mentorship that I received and helping others avoid the same mistakes I once made. Prior to University, I spent my spare time spreading environmental awareness to elementary students, coaching middle school basketball teams, and guiding nascent MathCounts and Science Olympiad programs. Since arriving at UT Austin, I have had the privilege of teaching a classroom of middle schoolers for a semester as part of the UTeach Outreach program. I am most passionate about Math, Computer Science, and the college application process. In my experience helping struggling students prepare their applications for admissions, I have had the most fun reviewing essays and revising resumes. I also enjoy sharing tips and tricks to solving any Standardized Math Test questions! I truly believe education is the key to a better future, and it cannot be taken for granted because of the unequal opportunities that others face. Outside of academia, I enjoy working out, hiking, playing sports with my friends, and showing people new songs!

I am a third-year Ph.D. student in UT Austin's American Studies department. I received my B.S. in Media, Culture and Communication from NYU and my M.A. in Literary and Cultural Studies from Carnegie Mellon. As a lifelong student, I love to help others enjoy the process of learning and to see their hard work pay off! I'm currently teaching a writing course at UT with the theme, "Americans Abroad." Last year, I taught discussion sections for a UT American literature course, and previously I worked as a teaching assistant for classes on introductory academic writing, U.S. history, and American culture. While I tutor a range of subjects, I especially love demystifying standardized tests and helping students improve their reading and writing skills. I also have expertise in the subject areas of American history and literature. I'm looking forward to working with you to achieve your goals! Hobbies: travel, reading, music, writing, art, books, traveling

I am a graduate of University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts in English. Most of my experience in teaching has been with 826 Michigan, a non-profit organization focused on teaching children creative reading and writing. My favorite subject to teach is English literature and writing. I believe that critical reading and writing skills are extremely important in this age of information, and that students should have access to the help they need to better navigate those skills. In my free time, I enjoy reading speculative fiction, creative writing, and cooking new recipes.
