I am a recent graduate of Towson University that received a Bachelor's of Science in Mathematics with a concentration in Pure Mathematics. At Towson University, I worked for over two years as a mathematics tutor in the Tutoring and Learning Center and as a Teaching Assistant for an introduction to proof writing course (Math 267 Intro to Abstract Mathematics). Since graduating, I have sought opportunities to continue tutoring and teaching others in learning mathematics. Tutoring and teaching mathematics is one of my passions, as I enjoy helping others overcome their struggles and excel in mathematics. I use various techniques when tutoring others but often utilize the I do, We do, You do approach to helping others understand the material that is vexing them. I can tutor nearly any middle school, high school, and college-level mathematics course, and I am available on weekdays and weekends during the afternoons or evenings.

Currently purifying proteins at the National Cancer Institute. Attended Trinity College '19 and majored in Biology (and Philosophy). Advanced Orgo was an elective I took...still contemplating why I did that.I enjoyed coupling my studies as a Teaching Assistant in order (1) cement the material into my knowledge and (2) help fellow classmate take on challenging concepts in biology and chemistry. I was a TA for intro biology course, biochemistry, cell biology, general chemistry and organic chemistry.

I have tutored in entry level financial/managerial accounting subjects (Accounting 100 and 101) as a paid position in my alma matter, Prince Georges Community College (PGCC), where I received an associate degree in accounting. Through my early education years, I have also patiently taught algebra to fellow classmates who found it difficult to understand the concepts. In my experience, helping students prepare for exams has been a blessing because when the goal is achieved, we see progress in their lives.I have a BS in Accounting from the University of Maryland, College Park. I also have a Masters of Science (MS) in accounting with a focus on Internal Auditing. Since my graduation, I have worked extensively in the field of accounting mostly in the federal government financial management space where accounting principles are applied based on government laws, regulations and requirements.In my spare time, I enjoy reading, spending time with my family and being a source of help to others. Now I am working hard with students from different places in subjects like MEE, MBE, Criminal Law, Spanish among others.Originally from Nicaragua, I moved to the Miami, FL to pursue a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. After graduation I moved to Washington DC for law school. Now I live in Maryland and work as an assistant public defender. I love my career as an attorney, but I also love to teach and mentor students that might be going through a rough time in school and need some guidance and a helping hand.

My educational background is in Math and Psychology. I recently obtained my Master's degree in Quantitative Psychology, which is basically research methods and statistics for behavioral sciences. That means I have a strong math background AND a strong Social Science background.I have experience teaching people of all ages; I've worked with 6 year olds learning to read, middle schoolers preparing for math tests, and graduate students taking advanced stats classes. I love the challenges and joys that come with each of these groups. My teaching style adapts for each student, but as a default I'm big on using visuals and having hands-on experience. Hello, I'm Karen, a student at the University of Maryland. I am currently studying secondary education, and exploring the possibility of either teaching math or social studies. I am passionate about education, and I want to some day become a teacher because I feel that teachers (and tutors) can make such an important difference in people's lives. While I may be young, I have a great deal of tutoring experience through a program at my high school, the Teacher Academy of Maryland. In this program, I took two classes on education and completed an internship at a local middle school. In my internship, I not only got to work one-on-one with students, but I also got to teach entire classes. I taught a wide variety of students- from the most advance 8th graders in the school, to struggling 7th graders with a big attitude. I found the experience incredibly rewarding, and I'd love to continue making a difference by tutoring. I especially enjoy tutoring math- I love coming up with creative ways to make it exciting and fun, while also providing students with a strong understanding in the subject.

Studying Biology and Environmental Science has given me an in-depth knowledge about biology and earth systems. Studying statistics and research methods in my graduate studies has made me well-equipped for maintaining student engagement in all content areas.In the Biology courses I have taken I have always had a particular interest in genetics and environmental issues.
