I am a graduate of The University of Phoenix. I received my Bachelor of Science in Education Degree in Elementary Education. I also have some graduate credits focusing on English as a Second Language, and have my English as a Second Language Endorsement. I have taught numerous grade levels, K-5, and have taught in two dual language schools. My expertise is teaching students fundamental reading skills and math in a fun and engaging way. I have seen my students improve in both reading and math up to two or more grade levels in just one year! In my 20 plus years in education, I have learned teaching is not just about math or reading but about creating a love of learning. My enthusiasm for learning is contagious! I love seeing the "light-bulb" come on when my students learn something new. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family, playing fetch with my dog, doing anything outdoors, and watching football.

I received an education in the humanities, but I'm comfortable with all subjects at the lower levels as well. I attained my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction in 2013. and completed my Doctorate in Educational Leadership in 2017. I currently teach diverse learners (special education) in grades 1-6.

I am currently enrolled in Southern Methodist University majoring in Elementary Education & Art. My goal is to help your child learn as much as possible in a way that makes sense to them - because after all, learning should be fun! When a teacher strives to understand their students on a more individualized level, students realize that they are genuinely cared for and thus more comfortable to learn. I am a graduate of the University of Florida, where I majored in English and minored in Linguistics. I truly love writing and have a passion for spelling and grammar. I am confident that I can help any student become a better writer.Throughout high school, I worked with a boy through his third and fourth grade years to improve his writing skills for the FCAT, the state standardized exam in Florida, which he successfully passed at the conclusion of my tutelage.Standardized testing has always come naturally to me and I scored very well on my SAT test. I would be happy to pass along any tips and tricks I can to help students score higher. My specialty is in process of elimination and strategic guessing.Additionally, I have always been good with Mathematics and Spanish. I tutored my peers in Math throughout all of middle and high school. I love Spanish and studied it for seven years (up until mid-college). One high school sophomore I helped in Spanish raised her D+ to an A!While a majority of my tutoring experience is from high school, I have had plenty of leadership experience since that has kept me aware of successful teaching methods. I was a camp counselor for elementary-aged children for four consecutive summers (2008-2012), and I was a leader and choreographer for my college dance team from 2008 to 2011.I have top-notch communication skills and a fun personality.
