I'm from Las Vegas, NV. I am currently a junior at the University of Miami majoring in Industrial Engineering with a double minor in Mathematics and Economics. My hobbies include laying by the pool and listening to new music.

I am a graduate of Rice University (B.A. in Biochemistry and Cell Biology, History) and Emory University (MPH). Through my undergraduate and graduate studies, I have tutored students in various subjects in one-on-one and group tutoring sessions. I am fluent in Spanish and English and enjoy teaching and tutoring students in Spanish, History, English, Algebra I and II, Calculus, Biology and Chemistry. I am currently graduating from School for Advanced Studies high school and Miami Dade College with my Associates in Art both simultaneously. I am going to continue my education at Carnegie Mellon University. I tutor my peers and anyone that needs help in my family. I have a pretty wide range of what I can teach because of all the different people that need help. I am also able to teach in different ways to make sure that the student understands and masters the materials given. I tutor in all types of math and am flexible with the type of math students need help with. On my free time I play the French Horn with my school band and hang out with family and friends.

I am certified in the state of Florida to teach Middle Grades Mathematics 5-9. I have a bachelors degree in Finance and Masters degree in Sustainable Real Estate Development from Tulane University. I previously worked in real estate for two years prior to moving to Miami and was involved as a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters for much of that time.

I'm a 2nd year medical student at the University of Miami. I have extensive experience tutoring in all science subjects (orgo, biology, genetics, physics), math and reading. I have been an SAT and ACT tutoring for over 6 years now at the local Boys and Girls Club. I also have extensive experience tutoring for the MCAT, from best practices to more technical skills as well. I enjoy tutoring and realize everyone learns in a unique way. I studied abroad in France junior year of high school and in Chile junior year of college, and my experience abroad really strengthened my passion for languages and other cultures. I am extremely passionate about psychology, but I also really enjoy tutoring English. Literary analysis can be fun, I promise! When I am tutoring a student, I try to relate to him or her on a more friendly and personal level; it is important to me that my students understand I am accessible and there to help, not to intimidate them or make them uncomfortable and confused. I feel that this makes it much easier for a student to approach me with questions or a simple I have no idea whats going on in this math problem. When it comes to standardized testing, I firmly believe that test-taking is a skill in and of itself the SAT, for example, tests ones math and verbal abilities, but it also tests your ability to take the SAT, which is a skill that can be taught and practiced. I am currently studying at St. John’s College for my Bachelor of Arts in the Liberal Arts. St. John’s curriculum follows the Great Books Program which relies on primary sources instead of textbooks. During my time at St. John’s, I have volunteered as a tutor working with middle school students, focusing on Reading, Writing, and Mathematics. I have also tutored students in US history, Government, and World Religions. I have enjoyed tutoring English and Literature the most as I find it very rewarding to help students find material that they not only enjoy, but connect to and use to understand their own lives. In this age, technology has made information freely available to everyone. I think that it is extremely important to teach students how to find, processes and critically reflect on this wealth of resources. I find that it is equally important to nurture a student’s curiosity by demonstrating how lessons taught in the classroom can be applied to their unique passion. My own passions include writing, reading anything from philosophy to comic books, and playing video games.

I graduated from Coral Gables Senior High School, with an International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma, where I had many teachers that I admired and looked up to. The wonderful experiences I had with my teachers in high school is why I am so passionate about tutoring and empowering students to meet their full potential. I have experience tutoring students in both middle and high school to succeed in classes in which they were having academic difficulty.
