I am a senior in college studying Information systems with a background in chemical engineering. My current major requires a vast statistical knowledge and I have many years of chemistry experience. I've been tutoring for 5 years and I've been volunteering in classrooms for 6 years. I'm a certified substitute teacher with experience in lesson planning and learning styles

I am passionate about helping students because I love to learn and share in ideas. "Teaching" others and gaining their perspective is like "relearning" something and enjoying that "ah ha" moment all over again. I have worked with students of all ages and abilities, sponsored foreign exchange students, and collaborated with other artists and volunteers through community arts organizations.As my high school Valedictorian, I attended Xavier University on a full academic scholarship where I attained a BFA with a concentration in Drawing and Painting. I also studied classical dance from a German ballerina through a long teaching apprenticeship. I have always believed in the connections between art, athletics, and academics and that we learn best by doing. As a lifelong learner I have entered into jobs and projects where I could learn and share new skills both inside and outside the classroom. All of this experience has prepared me for my most important career as devoted wife and a proud mother of two. Currently I tutor English/ AP test taking, reading, writing, studio arts, design, and executive function. My true passion is education and how we best learn new skills, information, and alternative perspectives and cultures. I love travel, stories of all kinds, live theatre, and the art of conversation.

I graduated from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design with a Bachelor's in Animation. However I have always loved drawing and digital artwork and how to use it to tell stories.

I believe motivated and engaged students accomplish their goals when assisted by a personal tutor. So I assist students when they are unable to meet with their teacher, clarify concepts the student needs more time on, explain concepts in alternative ways, and review the building blocks that the student needs to complete the tasks at hand. We'll work together so that your student gains skills and confidence.I've enjoyed working with preschoolers to middle schoolers, and high school students are a great group to interact with. Everyone has their own energy and personal story they bring to a relationship, so I can say I do not prefer one age group over another.

Hi! My name is Manpreet! I am graduate student from UIC, and I am studying in the pre health field, while majoring in Biology and Psychology. I am 23 years old and currently in my gap year.I have been tutoring since my sophomore year of High School, so I have a lot of valuable experience that allows me to assist others with any educational goals that they might have. I am very good with little kids and my peers. I like to call myself a people person because I enjoy interacting with others, and others typically feel comfortable talking to me. I've worked at a variety of agencies including Genius Prep, Gooroo, Parliament, The Study Shack, All Ivy Tutors, and The Cambridge Institute.English: I love tutoring English and writing. I've worked on dozens of high school essays (and a few college ones as well)everything from computer coding to Shakespeare to Jewish history. I've also helped students write high school and college application essays that have landed them in elite schools such as Beacon and Brooklyn Tech. When I'm not tutoring, I spend 4-8 hours a day writing a novel so this is my element!Test Prep: I've had extensive experience tutoring test prep. I understand language acquisition from a global perspective. I lived in France for five years and studied philosophy for the French Baccalaurat. I've tutored many students in written and conversational French.History: I've tutored several students in U.S. History, from grades 6 through 11. Success stories include helping an exchange student go from failing a course to passing in 3 weeks.Film and Art: What I got a college education for! I've been making movies and working on sets since I was 13. I've had experience tutoring it as well. I taught a cinematography class to middle schoolers as part of Columbia's SPLASH program. I'm also currently helping a student write and shoot a short film. Writing and editing help (Final Cut, Premiere) still works well online with screen-sharing.Learning Differences: I've also tutored several students with learning differences, including ADHD and Autism. I adapt my teaching style to whatever the student's needs may be.
