Hi! I'm an engineering student from Georgia Tech, and I love to teach. In high school, I participated in numerous math competitions such as AMC/AIME and ARML and led my schools math team for 2 years.My style of teaching involves prioritizing intuition and understanding over memorization. It's imperative for you to know WHY something is important over how to do it. I also will often teach the same concept in different ways depending on how you like to learn best.My goal as an instructor is to get to know you as a person before I jump in with formulas, equations, and definitions.In addition to math, I also like to teach physics, test prep, and video/audio editing.

I am a current student at the University of St. Thomas, working towards my major of Computer Science and while I am proficient in a broad range of subjects I love math and science the most. Before university, I was able to travel with my family to a lot of places and meet a huge variety of people because of this I love meeting new people. I love hearing about their family dynamic or their group of friends at school and exchanging funny stories along the way.

My philosophies of teaching:The best part of teaching is feeling proud of what your students accomplish.A good teacher is someone for whom the student wants to work hard.A teachers most important skill is seeing things through students eyes.The students should be able to see themselves making progress.That's the psychological part of teaching. As for technique, I model, and monitor student work, and explain to correct mistakes. Students learn the most by working with guidance.

I have worked with several students over many K-12 subjects and standardized exams (PSAT, SAT, ACT). My approach is useful for the student for whom shortcuts are just not cutting it they want to actually understand the material. Of course sometimes shortcuts are useful but they are not useful beyond a certain point. You are paying for an exclusive service, so I want to make sure there is enough time for you, as a student, to fulfill goals that are reasonable. Routinely measuring and tracking progress in some controlled sense is essential to goal-based curriculum, such as standardized test preparation.

Learning was always something that I struggled with growing up. I always felt like it took me more time to learn concepts, which would be discouraging. As I grew up, I would try out different strategies in order to help me learn more effectively. The ones that worked, I kept. The ones that did not work, I stopped using them. The more I found strategies that worked, I began to be better in school. The better I performed, the more confidence I gained.Over the last 11 years, I have made my career in teaching at the undergraduate level. The experience is one that has come with its challenges, but has been so rewarding at the same time.The fact that I understand what it means to struggle in learning has made me a more effective educator and tutor. Once a student is able to identify the barriers to learning, it becomes a matter of establishing processes in order to overcome those barriers and build their confidence.

Educated through the Public School System in Elmhurst, IL and graduate from The University of Wisconsin in Madison, I understand the gap that can form between teachers and students first hand. Combining a relational teaching style, and a strong value of education, I believe that the unique needs of every student deserve consideration and that it is the role of the tutor to find the perfect way to teach. It is my personal wish that if a student has a special need, I can fulfill it through flexibility, kindness, and optimistic determination.

I graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. I have 15 year of corporate experience as a engineer, scientist and marketing manager. I miss getting to do science on a daily basis and would like to help students in high school and entry level college course master these topics.I have experience teaching at the middle school and high school level. I prefer to work with high school students and entry level college students. I have 4 years of tutoring experience at the college level.I think physics is phun. Yes, I made a horrible pun but it is nonetheless true. I enjoy helping students master complex skills to make seemingly difficult problems easy. I have a deep knowledge of physics and math (the language of physics). I can help students by showing them a variety of ways to approach problems and how to break down the problem into smaller steps.Math is the language of physics. I took 4 years of mathematics at the college level, fram calculus through mathematical physics.I graduated with a degree in both Applied Physics and Philosophy. I spent the first 8 years of my corporate career as an engineer and senior scientist applying physic daily to help manufacture computer ships.I look forward to working with students to help them learn how fun science and math can be. I am available weekdays, nights and weekends throughout the greater Austin area and online.

On campus, I am involved with Microsoft Excel peer tutoring, the Sales and Financial Services Clubs, and the university's Hutton Honors College. I am originally from Vernon Hills, Illinois, where I have additional past tutoring experience at Mathnasium and Kumon.

I have always had a gift at teaching and did not realize it until I tutored my classmates in college. I believe in a unique teaching style that persuades the mind to work and be challenged. That style has created a great effect on my classmates and better understanding on how to deal with a machine or mathematics.EDUCATIONI received my Computer Science degree at Prairie View A&M University. I am now currently enrolled at Houston Community College getting my Associates in Artificial Intelligence.SUBJECTSProgramming in C++Algebra 1 and 2ACT Math Prep- I love these subjects math mostly because it is the base of how our mind is challenged to think and deal with a problem.
