I've been preparing students to take GMAT and GRE exams for over 4 years. I work best with students who are looking for intense preparation and can commit to at least 2 hours a day of work. I create a structured curriculum tailored to each individual student. I've always enjoyed coaching students to take tests, because I can help them realize how to find patterns, crack codes and see the whole structure behind the puzzle. Getting better at tests is like any other sport. You have to train better, become efficient, increase confidence and develop basic skills that sharpen your thinking.

I am a graduate of Caldwell University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry. Since graduation, I have tutored students primarily in the core from elementary to middle school. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Science, Math, and History. In my experience, helping students needing to improve through a new fun approach. School is already very structured, so I like to take the learning to a more fun approach. We can also prepare for Standardized Tests, etc. I love learning and teaching and there is nothing that a student cannot learn. All you need is a little extra help, nothing short of your own true success. In my spare time, I enjoy martial arts, mostly Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

I am currently a middle school Language Arts teacher in a Gifted and Talented Public School in Elizabeth, NJ. I was born in Miami, FL and moved to Elizabeth at a very young age. I was raised and educated (K-12) in Elizabeth and am honored to be giving back to my community as a teacher in such a progressive district! As an undergraduate and graduate student, I attended Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, NJ. In 2008, I received my BA in Psychology and MA in Teaching in 2009. Over the course of my high school and college experiences, I tutored students in primary grades (K-5) in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics. Currently, as a Language Arts teacher, I meet with students individually and in small groups regularly to target specific Reading and Writing concepts/skills that they are struggling with. I believe weaknesses are strengths in disguise. With hard work and dedication, anything is possible. That is my tutoring/teaching philosophy. I enjoy getting to know my students and building relationships with them. As an educator, I try to individualize my teaching practices for my students in a way that will be relatable and understandable for them. Some students prefer visual elements in a lesson while others enjoy something a little more "hands on." Analyzing a complex text or writing an essay to a rigorous prompt are not easy tasks; however, with my help, we can complete such tasks and complete them well in no time! I enjoy teaching and tutoring because I ultimately enjoy learning. I hope you do too! When I am not teaching or tutoring, you may find me reading, working on an arts and crafts project for my home, or dancing! I love going on adventures, trying something new, hearing a funny joke or out of this world story, and spending time with friends and family.

I am a hardworking and motivated individual, who has recently completed her Associate degree in Science at Union County College. While I was studying at UCC, I discovered my passion for helping others with math, and decided to work at the Academic Learning Center. Working as a math tutor was a big opportunity for me because I could learn how to teach math, and how to make students understand it; especially those who does not like it. I know that math may be very hard for some students, but I have many helpful tools that might make students understand math. My favorite subjects to tutor are geometry, algebra and calculus because I had good professors who gave me a good background in those subjects. In my spare time, I like to go out with my friends, read books, and go swimming.
